Applied for a study permit, received medical request after a month and a half of

Hello,
I applied for a Canadian study permit online on June 2nd of this year. On July 21st I got an email from CIC requesting to undergo a medical exam by prescribed physicians panel which I did perform on July 24th. Today I received a result saying everything is normal and the report has been uploaded to e medical. Can anyone guide me who has been experienced with stats as in what's the supposed to mean and what can I expect later on?

Your chances to get your visa is more likely now, as you have been called for medical exam and further your medical is cleared and forwarded to CIC.

Can you guide me how much longer can these people take to make a decision. It's going to be 10 weeks and it wasnt until August 3rd when my medical status changed to pass. Did they do anything with my application at all before sending me a medical after a month and 19 days elapsed after application or was medical the first step of what looks like a long procedure of this application? I am really worried and anxious about the processing time. As you can see from the initial post it has been almost 2 months and 1 week since I applied.

To process temporary resident applications, such as visitor visas, study and work permits, CIC will:

review your application to make sure it’s complete,
determine if you are allowed to come to Canada (this could include a background screening),
determine if you are eligible to apply to work, study or visit Canada
send you instructions on how to complete a medical exam, if you did not get your medical before sending in your application,
determine if you need to attend an interview, and
inform you of the decision made on your application.
If you applied online, CIC will contact you through your MyCIC account.

If you applied on paper, CIC will contact you through the contact information that you entered on your application form.

things written on cic page are standard procedure. May be people who answered any thing in positive on scheduled one may need more detailed background check. Like if someone had been in politics in some way or related to any forces etc.

Thank you very much for your input. See my medical didn't clear until August 3rd and the status on my online application didn't change until 5th of August. I don't have a history of being in politics or military I know it's just 8th today. But I know so many people who got their application adjudicated before I did... I am just panicking and nervous. I just sent them a case specific Inquiry as well. God knows what is going to happen.

guys I checked last year august posts. it shows that everyone who was on hold after medical got their visas around mid august.
So stay put and keep praying

Now, I am waiting for final approval. Please let me know if you receive any update. It seems we will get a final decision soon!

Hey fcabrales,
By the look of whatever amount of research I have done so far, the background checks begin right after passing the medicals. I believe those background are supposed to last between 2 and 4 weeks... so the earliest we might hear is by next weekend and latest by beginning September.

I have made two case processing enquiries while I have been waiting. One was before medical on Jul 18th and the second was this month on August 08th. None of those enquiries were replied, I am getting really panicky and antsy. Made my life really restless these days. Don't even understand what to do? How long could they possibly take after medicals ans if background checks is what they're doing how come it took them so long to send a medical request and start a background check now.
Someone please guide...
