Great news J! Another step forward...

Question... we wanted to email and check that Pretoria had received our medical, etc. My partner emailed to re-pret-imm-information @ international.gc.ca but didn't receive any automated response or anything...

Now I'm wondering if that's an email they check or just for responses? Should we resubmit the question on the automated form on the pretoria visa office website? I'm worried about harassing them by asking twice but then also worried that they won't ever receive or respond to the first email...

Perfect, did you respond to that email address and get a response back? Did it say anything in the email along the lines of 'don't reply to this email addresss'??

I was wondering the same thing about that email! I sent an email to that adress regarding my additional docs not getting there in time and only got an automated response. It also says that they will respond within 29 days or something!Last year I sent an enquiry and never got a response apart from the automated one.

I think you should submit the question again on the form and also call! Im sure you will get an answer somewhere!

My BF date is Monday!!! Hehe and they only got my docs on Friday....tooo close!

Hi Guys,

Uhmm, well the first email I sent to them I actually filled out a case specific inquiry that was sent to Pretoria and I received an automated response confirming receipt almost instantly. My second email I just sent it via that email and tho it hasnt been responded to yet I did get the confirmation of receipt. I also noticed that they will only respond if they have something to say...I noticed on their automated response that an officer is not obliged to answer your question if its within the normal processing times. Im pretty sure they received your meds hun...my hubbys had issues remember he hadnt correctly signed the docs forms so he had to do that so im assuming somewhere in that pipeline the correspondence got lost. I dont think it will be much longer though...I have a feeling the next email you will receive is the PPR!

@Jacquevw..good job, push your way through! Pretoria is so relaxed. I think they havin too many tea parties..I cant even begin to explain their silence!

Getting so stressed about it all now... it's getting hard to keep a sense of humour.

Perfect - thanks for the reminder regarding your medical form issues... you're right, there is no reason to assume ours disappeared into the Nairobi abyss.

We didn't even get an auto response to our email so I'm thinking it didn't get sent to the right place. I keep going back and forth between wanting to order CAIPS notes or not, wanting to re-email or not... Really, what difference does it make? Probably won't tell us anything new and even if it does there isn't much we can do with the information.

I've been emailing with a woman who's also processing through Pretoria... started Aug 4 (so 4 weeks before me) and she also hasn't received a PPR yet so I guess at least it's not just me. Guess as long as none of us have heard anything there's no reason to panic... yet

Oh my gosh you guys...im beginning to feel irritated by this process. What the heck is happening in Pretoria like seriously the silence is too much. It would make all the difference if we could hear some form of feedback for even one person..at least its an indication of life sheez!

I feel the same Perfect! I havnt heard anything since 02 Dec. Imagine how great it would feel to get a suprize PPR in the mail!

We're definitely all in the same boat... I haven't heard a peep since Nov 1!

I don't really care if it takes another month or two but just so hard not knowing if there is a problem or if it's going to take another year or what the story is... a little communication would make all the difference.

And it's so depressing on the July applicants thread cause everyone else is done and gone... just me and the inlanders

Ok guys here's some info..Im not sure if it helps but I guess there's life in Pretoria after all. My mom sponsored my two little sisters ages 11 and 17..Pretoria started processing their file on March 10, 2010 and they have just received their PPR today via email. It took long because they spent about 4 months before they submitted one requested document and about 1 month before doing their medicals. So minus the the wasted time, it would have taken them 6 months until completion. So im pretty sure spousal sponsorships come first in the overseas expedition process followed by dependents. I saw this on the old processing timeline, it had I think 50% processed in 9 months for the dependents, and 6 months for spousals. Anyways...guess im happy my sisters are coming finally but then again...tick tock tick tock..the struggle continues.

Good luck to all of you..by the end of this month we should have heard something from someone if not me hehehehehe. Tryna be optimistic now huh lol!

Great news about your sisters Perfect...

6 months gets me right up to the end of Feb and then I've got another 2.5 month buffer before the flight to Canada so I'm optimistic that we've left enough time (or at least I'm trying to be...)

Still no news....no wayyyys you guys are not serious!! Anyways, I just emailed the lady who I assume is dealing with our file. I had her name from her previous email so I kinda guessed her email add. Haven't got a failure delivery report yet, so hopefully its been delivered. I dont care anymore, im going to push my way through, I paid for this seriously they are not doing me a favor. So i have every right to contact them...I just did and im expecting a response. Im just frustrated that's all especially that my hubbys medz expire next week Sunday hows that for another drag?????

I have to agree with you Perfect! We all pay a ton of money to go through possibly one of the most stressful processes some of us will ever have to deal with! If someone on "the other side" can at least just correspond with the applicants once in a while to let us know that they are busy with our file and that its not floating around in space somewhere it would realy make a big difference!

How did you get to receive emails from them? They correspond with me through the mail and the last letter (AOR) I got took a month to get delivered to me in Canada and then they gave me 60 days time limit to respond! Which meant I had to pretty much send out the documents they requested on the same day so they would get it in time...which they did eventualy after I called the President of Earth!
Ugh ok Im starting to rant again!

I realy hope you get PPR before the meds expire! Congrats to your sisters!

OMG!!

Was so disappointed yesterday when we got an ECAS update email and there was no change on the account

Then today got a call from my partner - Pretoria phoned and ask him to send his passport!!!

So excited! And a sign of life from Pretoria FINALLY! Hopefully you guys are both just behind me - I started processing in Pretoria Aug 31 and my BF date for last documents was Jan 28.

Can't believe I'm out of town for the big news but will definitely have a big celebration when I get back.

Perfect - you told me way at the beginning that most people you'd heard of had processed within 5 months... by the time we get the passport back it will be 6 months. That's not such a big difference so I'm sure you'll all be in the same range.

At least we know someone is still out there and processing away!
