Holy!! So much has happened since I last check the forum!

Congrats on the progress Waitingz! Im sure ur very excited!
Question: What is the AOR?
How do you get on ecas? I dont have a receipt number or anything like that yet.

Perfect that timeline that you gave is just perfect, hehe!

As for the call, my wife called yesterday and it (automated call) pretty much said to call back on Thursdays because it is their slow period!

Ja its pretty quite in Denny Island hey! My wife's grandmother gave us a chunk of her property to build a cabin on....right on the beach! The main thing going on there is sport fishing so during summer months it gets a little more busy!There is also a Coast Guard Search and rescue station which I will be hopefully working out of in the coming months!

Jacquevw: AOR is Acknowledgment of Reciept... it's what you receive from the visa office. Often it will include information regarding additional documents they want you to send but it sounds like sometimes it even includes a passport request or interview waiver/date. So it could be a big next step....

And still waiting to actually see mine... SO frustrating.

ECAS: I'm not sure how you would log in without a reciept number. You may have to wait until you get your sponsor approval and then sign in with your client ID. It really doesn't say much on there anyway unfortunately.

On another note, my partner finally found out the police check has been ready for ages but they need the payment (not sure if it wasn't paid or if they just didn't receive proof of payment)... sigh, also very frustrating but at least we know it's done now.

So unfortunately I've got nothing exciting to update... The letter (which I still haven't actually seen) just says they've received the application and gives an address for sending in additional documents (doesn't seem to even request anything in particular).

Anyway, will go ahead and send in all the police checks and I supposed I'll hear more eventually.

Oh, did you guys submit the Travel Supplement? It says it's only required for the Rabat office but I've heard that all the Africa offices ask for it if it's not submitted with the initial application. I think we're just going to send it in now to aviod delays...

I did not submit the Travel Sup! Thought it was only the Rabat office who needs it. I guess I will have it ready in case they ask for it!

We will only hear from them sometime in October about the sponsorship approval and then I am guessing that the AOR will show up sometime after my application is sent to Pretoria!

Im not sure if I submitted the supplementary travel sheet(panicking)! @Waitingz, it would be a good idea to send in the pending info as you already have your file number. Like seriously, there's nothing to wait for go for it. At least the police clearance got sorted so that's a relief hey. Im waiting for the AOR and lets see what they say. Hope its coming soon because me n the huzby are running out of patience. It already feels like we been waiting forever you know lol. @Jacqvw I just noticed September thread has started getting their approvals, hope you get through the first stage soon with no hassles. Hi Perfect: Sending everything to SA today where my partner's sister will just add in the police clearance and send it on to the VO later this week (hopefully). Will be a relief to know it's all submitted. I've heard it sometimes takes them up to 3 months to process new documents so really hope that's not the case.

I wouldn't panic about the travel supplement... it definitely is not listed as a required document. I just heard from a few people applying through various African offices (other than Rabat) that they'd been asked to submit it so we're just going to go ahead and submit it just in case.

In meanwhile, we're going on holiday next week and will be away for about two weeks so that should help pass some time and hopefully by the time we get back we'll have heard something more. I think the worst would be waiting for months without any communication from the VO...

Hi everybody, my husband got his AOR today from Pretoria dated October 5. As well, surprisingly, he got a 2nd letter at the same time requesting 1 extra document. The second letter is notifying him to go and see the same doctor he saw for his medicals and hand him a sealed letter that the doctor will open, read and give him further instructions. I am so curious as to what that could be, as well they said he has 30 days to do that. So, my husband did not sign that green form that you sign in front of the dmp confirming that hes the one who conducted the medicals, so there was a missing signature on that form could that be what it is...? Someone help...
Oh and the AOR, did not say the interview was waived it just said they will notify him ahead of time if an interview is needed. Is that what your AOR said too waitingz?

Our application was sent back to us...the method of payment issue as we expected! We fixed it tho and got it sent back to Miss. on Monday morning so they should have it by now I think!

Hi all

Have been away on holiday... much needed break from thinking about immigration except of course I was thinking about immigration the whole time.

Perfect: Frustratingly, the land line at my partner's sister's house has been down for a few weeks so they haven't been able to email us a scan of the AOR yet. From what I understand, it only said if they need anything else, they'll let us know and if there is to be an interview, they'll let us know. About the medical, I would think it's likely to be the signature issue. Otherwise, the Dr here told us to wait for confirmation of a clear result on the x-ray before leaving the lab because sometimes they get rejected if they are not clear enough... maybe something like that happened and they want to redo a test.

Our SA police check seems to have disappeared! After over two months of waiting they finally got the payment and sent it out two weeks and a half weeks ago but it still hasn't been received! AND now our TZ police check has expired so have to do it again. Our Zim check expires next week so rushing to get everything sent in. This whole delay has cost us over a month already! (though of course we haven't even received a request for additional docs yet so who knows what the story is) My partner will be on the phone to SA today to try to find out about the SA check... if we need to start that over again that'll be another 6 - 8 weeks! VERY frustrating.

Jacque: sorry about your application...hopefully it runs smoothly from now on.

Sweetypie: the travel supplement is in the Africa extra info section but listed for Rabat applications only (but I've heard other offices request it too).

UPDATE

Got hold of the SA Police Check people yesterday and turns out they haven't sent the document yet because they think they're waiting for payment (despite the fact that we paid, sent email confirmation we paid and received an email back confirming they've received the payment and will send the document three weeks ago).

So a month lost but we haven't received an additional document request yet anyway so who knows what it means. Hopefully will have everything submitted by next week.

Part of me is still hoping that any day we'll receive a letter asking us to send the police checks and his passport all in one go and this will finally be over...

I think I will need to get a new Sa police check too now that my application has been delayed.
How long are they valid for?
I will need to get my fingerprints done here in California and send it to them in SA...jeez I wonder how long that will take?

Hi Guys,

Okay so my hubby finally went to see the DMP yesterday and it was the signature...sheez CIC is so big on signatures for real. So it seems to me Nairobi could not give Pretoria his medical results because he hadn't given them the authorization to do so! It sucks sometimes I wish they could just use common sense. But then again the law is the law and that's what that is. His letter actually said his file cannot be processed any further until they get the medicals so I wonder what stage they are at..mmmm : : :?? I was hoping to be with hubby for Christmas but after this whole setback, I may just be pushing my luck.

@jacquevw - Sorry to learn that they sent your application back, but good thing is the problem has been cleared and the ball is rolling once again for you. Good luck an I hope they don't take forever to approve you.

@Waitingz - Hope you had a nice time on your vacation...Thank God your SA clearance has been sent, thats one milestone covered. I dont get what you mean by the other police clearances have expired. My hubbys Zim clearance expired on August 20, but the lock in date was on August 12 the day they received the application in Mississauga and I never got a request for a new one. I think if immigration has it before it expires you should be good unless of course they request it. Its just a thought I dont have any facts to back it up..lool!!

Sucks about your medical... can't believe Nairobi didn't just contact you directly once they realized the mistake. Amazing how these little things can waste so much time. I definitely wasn't assuming we'd be done by Christmas... working on 5 months from start of processing so I'm hoping we're stamped and done by end of Jan.

The TZ police check expiring was our fault... we held on to it with the intention of submitting all three together (to save on the ever mounting courier costs) but didn't realize it had expired while we waited so didn't get submitted in time. Fortunately - in a show of stunning efficiency, the police here were able to just re-write our clearance letter with a new date without all the finger printing and checking so it's already redone and heading to SA today.

We've all had little set backs but hopefully everything's back on track now...

We've just booked some super sale flights to SA so we can go be with the family over Christmas... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that maybe we'll get the passport request before and can get it stamped while we're down there... do you know if it's possible to collect it in person??
