Applications processed in Pretoria

Hi all!

I received my pp finally yesterday after driving all the way to Vancouver to pick it up instead of the couriers messing up again...that is a long frustrating story!Just a hint: For some reason the courier in SA put the delivery adres as 0000 Canada which meant my passport went on a wild chase across Canada before they finally got it in Vancouver .

Anyway on to more happy things!

We decided to drive a little further down to the Peace Arch and I landed!! ;D ;D

It took me longer to walk between the USA/Canada border stations than it took to actualy land! They were realy friendly and nice!Just asked if anything changed in marital status and so on and if I have any goods to follow later. Easy easy easy!

Hi Waiting in Tanzania,

Looking at your timeline I can’t believe how fast it was (6 or 7 months)? Did you have any requests for extra documents or do you have any other advice that you think made your application go faster? My husband and I are submitting on Wednesday... and are finally in the homestretch but I go back to Canada in August and I’m really hoping we aren’t separated for too long.

Hey Malawi

We did have an extra doc request because we hadn't submitted our police clearances with the application. Definitely will save you time if you don't have that extra wait but as you said, it was pretty quick anyway.

I'd just say go through everything five extra times - the forms, the lists, etc. If you are unsure whether to include something, include it.

The more you submit the better. Just assess your application from a completely objective perspective and don't give them any reason to have to ask you for more info.

Beyond that I'm pretty sure it's just luck Good Luck!

Thank you! Did you trip and get a TRP while your permanent res was being done? I was hoping that he could come to see me in toronto but I'm not sure what the rules are. In any case, we went through the files many times and I think we're ready! We're sending it by courier to Mississauga today!

Congradz Jakcuevw...you have your sin and everything sorted now I bet. Howz the little one doing?? Well...no update on my end, im still waiting, no news no email no responses from Pretoria. I ordered caips and we should have them sometime next so I will def keep you guys posted.

In the meantime..the struggle continues and good luck everybody else...

p/s - the waiting and stress levels are beginning to affect my marriage and its becoming harder everyday. Hopefully we will get over it, the issues that come with being separated from your partner are really beginning to tear us apart slowly. Sigh... :'( :'( :'(

Keeping my fingers crossed that you will have news soon. At least you know what the delay is.

My partner and I also found it to be a difficult time... and getting the PR hasn't made things easier as there's still the stress of moving, packing, finances, etc, etc

But I do believe that once we've all had a chance to settle into our new lives things will improve so keep your eyes on the light at the end of the tunnel... I'm sure it's closer than it feels.

hi guys any help my application are in Pretoria they ask my spouse to pay the right of permanent residence fee and she paid on 24 of march 2011 to Mississauga i was wondering how long it take for Mississauga notify Pretoria that fee was paid and how long will take for than to issue the visa .please friends i will, be pleased to hear from you.

@ Malawi - Congradz and keep us posted, its seems Pretoria moves very fast if your case is straightforward and has no document request. Good luck.

@ Zokas...it will take Missisauga about 1 - 2 months to process the payment and notify Pretoria. Others have had it processed as early as 3 weeks and as late as 2 months. With Pretoria they are very fond of BF Dates, so if it was process in 3 weeks and your BFD is set to 2 months from the date of request, then you will most likely hear from them then. One quick way to find out your BF date is to check the letter of request, if they gave you 30 days to submit it then you can count 30 days from the date on the letter or email and maybe add plus or minus 5 days etc. By the way, thats a clear indication your file is in its final stages so congradz. As well, I was very curious...did you have to re-do your medz and what situation did you have with those? Were trhey the cause of your delay? My husbands medz had a status of incomplete coz there was some missin info..and its been a while since he sent in the missing stuff and still no word...

many thanks perfect for the answers, regard the payment of RPRF, and to answer your question i did 3 medicals on the course of 3 year because my application was delayed and the reason why i think my case as been slow was for the fact that i over stayed in Canada when i was there,which i dip regret is costing me 3 years way from my wife and daughter,but those days are in the past am happy that things are happen now, once again thanks many thanks and good lucky with your application, who should go faster.

Would like to hear about peoples timelines? From this website it seems that people are processed between 6-10 months but according to the CIC website it takes around 18months in Pretoria.... This is horrifying to me since I really don't want to be separated from my husband any longer than necessary. Anyone have an experience with this?

You haven't received an approval from mississauga yet?? I sent my application on the 3rd of march 2011 and still no sign of them and its almost 3months now! Really frustrating.. Call them and they said to wait a couple of weeks more, but their website states 1month only of processing. As anyone had a similar experience??

Ours was processed in exactly 40 days - you can check on the website to see which day their processing. For example, we sent our app by courier and it was received on April 3rd. One day on the website it said reviewing applications received April 7th or earlier - we heard our results two or three days later.

Our app is also now in Pretoria, but no word from them yet about interviews etc.

I hope nothing is wrong! My wife sent it by regular post and they gave a tracking number to my wife but she lost it, so we dont have any idea when they received it. But it should be a couple of days later, because she sent it from quebec. And we sent it on the 3rd of March, and whenever we contact the call centre they say its in process..frustrating..
