Guys,

Bringing the thread up......

Thanks

Still no update.

I have some new information related to the after PR status:

There is an organization funded by CIC in Ontario helps the permanent residents to apply for citizenship after the eligibility period. They fill in the application properly, so it cannot be returned for incompleteness or any errors on the Photos signature.

They teach courses about the questions given on the Citizenship test, give questions and answers, and after 5 weeks they determine the test date for the applicant to be done at their classrooms after checking his documents, and eligibility to apply for citizenship.

After taking the test with them (and pass), they send the test results along with the citizenship application and supporting documents to CIC Sydney, which means that the test is done in advance even before CIC receives the citizenship application.

This saves the time and, makes the applicant sure that he passed the test which is actually not very simple and takes ages in case the applicant fails in it to get an appointment with an immigration jude to determine whether the applicant is approved or not at this time, i looked at the booklet on CIC website, and it has so many details to be memorised:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/pub/discover.pdf

The only thing the applicant will be waiting is the AOR of the citizenship application from CIC Sydney containing his file number, and later a letter stating the OATH date (if everything is straight means: No security related issues, or any doubts about the residency in Canada).

They charge $40 for the entire process, i think i am gonna go with them when i apply in the future.

This is thier website: Kolbe Group

Good luck to everyone.

Guys, no questions this time. I have a great news to share..... :D

I got the Passport request today from LA office by e-mail. I thought they are not gonna send new PPR before the end of 2010. But, surprisingly I got it!!!

I know Zang submitted his passport to LA office last October and they returned it to him and asked to resubmit it next year.

I applied for PR on Nov 30, 2009; submitted full docs on May 05, 2010 and got PPR on Dec 14, 2010. I did everything by myself with the help of you guys. Thank you all.... I appreciate your help friends.

Congratulations, and wish you the best of luck in your new life in Canada.

Thank you Pro1. You are the one who deserve most of my gratitude.

Pro1, I want your thought on this issue- what happened that I received it during this time when LA office is out of quota for this year? Do you suggest me to send my PP now or I should wait unitl Jan. and then send it? I am concerened if they send back my PP and ask me to send it again on January, as they did with Zang.

Hey Karta.. ya, any news from ur part?

Even if they have not got the new quota yet for 2011, they usually take 2 weeks to stamp the visa and send the passport back. If that had been the case, they will have already got their new quota after keeping your passport for 2 weeks and send it back to you at the beginnig of Jan.

Send your passport now, and wish you the best of luck.

Congrats on the surprising news ;). I think that you should send them PP too, if you're not gonna use it for the next 4-5 weeks. It should take that long in the holiday season..

Thank you all for good wishes. Now one question..

It says in that e-mail to carry the amount of fund during the landing process. It also mentions about bank documents. Well, my stay here in USA was not smooth....so I could not continue with a good credit score at the end :'(.
Does that gonna effect on my landing and am I carrying my black story with me in Canada?

woo! Congratulations Twilight871 :D

Congrats Twilight....I don't think credit score will matter as long as you carry Proof of Funds with you

Thank you all for your wishes. I hope so Mark... could be great gift for christmas.

Congrats Twilight, I just saw the news.

I think if you are not planning to attend LA office in person for visa stamping, you should submit the PP now. I agree with Pro1 that once the new quota starts, if they have ur PP they will stamp and send it. You can start the unavoidable 2-3 weeks wait now than start in January.
