Happy thanks giving for all of you. Best wishes.

Professional1 and Friends,
Happy Thanks Giving to all!

I am working in USA and filed through Nova Scotia and here is the status;
I received my first acknowledgment on March 2010 saying NOVA SCOTIA review complete. After 8 months now I received an email from Buffalo saying a new tracking number and the email is below ;
"Dear Applicant:
This is to advise you that your application for permanent residence has been received at the Canadian Consulate General in Buffalo, New York and that a file has been created for you. Your file number appears above. Please note that this file number is different from the one that was assigned to you by the Case Processing Centre in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. You must quote this new file number in any future correspondence."

I checked this new number status and it specifies - "Received by VISA Office". When I clicked on that hyperlink it highlights the below details;
"We received your application for permanent residence on January 18, 2010.
We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on March 2, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
Your application and supporting documents were received by the Buffalo office. They are pending review.
We transferred your application to the Buffalo office on March 10, 2010. The Buffalo office may contact you. "

My question is, I received the new number from Buffalo after 8 months only. Is that mean that it will take another 8 months for Buffalo to start my process?? Because I saw in emails from Professional 1 that it took nearly 7 months on average to start processing after receiving second email from Buffalo.

Please share your thought on this.

Thanks,
Pariksith

Hi pariksith,

No it is not gonna be another 8 months just to start the processing of your application, they might have already started by now, or at least in the very near future. Sometimes they delay sending the AOR for unknown reasons.

By the way, is that the entire email you have received from them, didn't they mention the second part of the message which says:

"Before your application can be placed in processing, a determination will be made as to whether or not you are eligible for processing. If your application is not eligible for processing, you will receive a letter informing you of the reasons for the decision as well as a refund."

HI, Professional 1

as you said above, I saw my reply letter from buffalo, its only as followed:

"Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete."

I can not see any other things there, don't know the reason, is that normal? And does it means its alreadt processing and will not refund anything? ( btw, of course i dun want to refund anything, i wanna pass. hahahaha)

Thank you. Best regards.

Professional1,
Thanks for the reply. Yes the second part of the email specify the following;

" Before your application can be placed in processing, a determination will be made as to whether or not you are eligible for processing. If your application is not eligible for processing, you will receive a letter informing you of the reasons for the decision as well as a refund. "

Please let me know if there are any issues on this.

Thanks,
Pariksith

Hello - Applying for PR through Buffalo

Hi Everyone - new to this site! Ecas is showing that my husband's (US Citizen, I'm Canadian), application is in process as of November 15th and medicals have been received. They have everything now including payment. Does the status status stay like this for a long period of time or are we getting close - hate this process, it's making me crazy :o
Any comments would be appreciated - thanks!!

hi, guys.

My angent told me Received by visa office and In process is the same, still in queen to be reviewed the aapications. Do you guys know what's the difference between them?

My E-cas is showing " received by visa office" , but I sent a letter to buffalo asked my status and they replied me my case is "In process". I was happy to hear that, but my agent told me its da same, I am so confused now. :(

Thank you very much. ;D
Received by Visa Office - Completeness of documents is verified and AOR is issused. If application is rejected, fee is refunded.

In Process - The application meets the Ministrial Instuctions (FSW1, 2, 3), NOC requirement, scored over 67 points and file is put in process, background checks start. If application is rejected, fee is not refunded.

Nothing to worry about, i was just wondering about that part because the AOR is a copy and paste letter from Buffalo with the only change in the file number, and the applicant name.

Your situation will be fine, and wish you the best of luck.

Hi dlmt,

Is that a Sponsorship or FSW application ? anyway, regardless the kind of the application, if he has done his medicals, and sent the results as you mentioned, you are almost at the final stage.

Does your e-case show medical results have been received ?

Good luck.

date of birth (DOB) error on diplomas explained voluntarily?

Hi,

The Date of Birth (in fact, only year and month, not day) on my first 2 degrees

(diploma) are 1.5 years apart from the DOB on my passport (the official one). I

contacted the registrars of the 2 schools back in my home country, but they told me that

they can't correct those mistakes, even though they can write a letter for me

explaining that these two dates are different from my official date of birth.

I wish I had taken these discrepancies seriously when I got my diplomas. Too late

though.

To make things even more confusing is that the name on the first degree is a former

name (I have a notary about the former name though).

My question is: should I provide an explanation of these discrepancies in my submission

or should I wait to see whether CIC cares about these minor differences?

Thanks
