thank you garian4u and this is the same question running in my mind. So, do u think it is better just to send rest of doc for now and FBI clearance afterwards.
And by doing that I will be able to submit all doc within 30 days. So, the processing will be 3 months faster, right!!!

Any concern from seniors are always welcome :D

Thank you seniors for your prompt help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

room3, it is totally upto you. My point was only to make you aware of the actual timelines of FBI. I have seen mostly that Buffalo has normally issued an AOR even without the FBI PCC althought that is a required document in their checklist for submission of full application package. But, there could be cases when the package is returned due to that particular document missing (just because I have'nt come across such a case, doesn't mean it hasn't happened). Personally, I prefer submitting all documents at the first instance rather than sending a piece later. But, given the pace at which Buffalo is working, I guess it wouldn't matter whether you submit your FBI PCC now or later. In fact, it could very well be that your FBI PCC reaches Buffalo even before they issue you an AOR (considering you send them full package without FBI PCC now)

Hi guys,

Doc "Visa office specific instructions Buffalo" mentions that "2. IDENTITY AND CIVIL STATUS DOCUMENTS Birth, marriage, final divorce, annulment or separation certificates for you and your spouse......", is that should be a birth certification mention my parents name? Did you guys submit such birth certification doc for youselves? ???

Thank you so much!

One more question:
Are those birth certifications should be original? Because i only have the copy for my daughter, the original doc has already submit to other visa office in other country.
Thanks

No MarkCan, It's taking 14-17 weeks to get the certificate currently. FBI's own website says processing time to be 13 weeks, which is just the processing time and doesn't include mailing times and other internal formalities. Look at this thread on "FBI Clearance in the US" http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/canada-immigration-forum/-t30136.0.html
I remember it took me just 4 weeks to get my clearance cert. and they were very courteous on the phone too. In fact, I would say I got a good service from them. Anyway, I am not sure if the current time to get this clearance cert. has changed. That can be easily checked on the website rather than someone's posting on canadavisa. Always best to check the facts from the SOURCE.

The logic is very simple. Apply now and see how much time it takes to get the clearance cert. Also talk to em on the phone too. If you don't get the clearance within the time stipulated by Buffalo, then send an explanation with your other documents. That should suffice. It is not very complicated.

Birth certificates usually mention parent's name and all other details related to you. And yes, you have to submit a copy of the birth certificate.

Hi guys,

Those 2 Buffalo applicants got their applications transfered to Los Angelos office today :

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/application-transferred-from-bufallo-to-la-consulate-general-t35907.0.html;msg232595

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/my-file-was-transferred-to-los-angeles-t35899.0.html

Both of them have the same timeline; applied to Buffalo on July 2009 and got their applications transfered on March 2010 (8 months to get their applications transfered)

Well Mark, I don't know when you had applied, but these are the current timelines posted on the SOURCE: http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/fprequest.htm and I quote "Allow approximately 13 weeks for processing, upon receipt to the FBI." Even expedite cases are taking at least 10 weeks and there is no guarantee for that. I had applied in Nov 2008 and it took me 1.5 weeks, and again I applied in Nov 2009 and it took me 13.5 weeks. I also applied a backup in Jan 2010 and it is 6 weeks already and not in FBI's system yet, so no point raising false hopes. I wouldn't have said about a timeline, unless I had double-checked it from a trusted source.

Miyo, you need to submit copies of the birth certificates and not the original, but these copies need to be notarised. I don't know how you will be able to notarise them without the original. The notaries that I know of all ask for the original, before notarising the copy. But, you can try or try getting another original issued.

Interesting ::).
If these file transfers to LA was part of the regular processing at Buffalo (rather than one offs) they would have already transferred most of Jan - April 2009 Buffalo applications to other visa offices in the US before getting down to June / July 2009 applications.

Can any early 2009 applicants to Buffalo confirm that their files have been transferred to another visa office in 2010?

I have a sneaking suspicion that most 2009 cases are still in a stock pile somewhere in Buffalo.

Hi rahmanrahat,

Actually i have no idea in which base they transfer some applications to other visa offices in the USA, i know that Buffalo is very busy, overloaded by the applications and that is the reason for the transfer, but i do not know how they choose the applications which are getting transfered (whether they just do it randomly or there are some specific features on those applications !)

For counting the processing time, it begins since buffalo receives the application regardless of whether it got transfered to another visa office in the united states or not.

What i am not sure about as well, is the eligibility review for the transfered applications whether they do it at Buffalo before the transfer or not (logically, i would say that they do it at Buffalo and let the other offices complete the processing Because they use the words "in order to expedite the processing of your application" in their email notifications to the applicants, otherwise, they wouldn't mention anything about the expedite processing if they have not conducted the eligibility review yet).
