Hi Professional 1,

Is there a way we can find out the passport has been dispatched other than the tracking number what we have of return envelope.

Thanks

No, unless you contact the visa office directly, and they respond saying that they have sent the passport for you, which is not a good idea in your case because you just sent your passport, and the waiting time to get it back is still very normal.

Professional 1,

You said that your cousin went with your picture and PPR letter, does that mean that with an authorizing letter anyone can go in person with passport and picture to get stamped in?

Hi All,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I completed my landing today at Peace Bridge in Fort Erie. Went without too many hitches. I went with my Passport, COPR and proof of funds in the main envelope and almost every other document I could think of in another bunch. Drove over from Canada to the US border, told the US immigration officer that I was here to flagpole. They directed me to an office nearby and I was escorted by a police officer inside. Asked to wait for 10 mins and then was called and given a Denial of admission letter and my passports back. The immigration officer then took me out, got me into my car and then asked me to follow his car (sirens on and everything!) and I was taken to the road back to Canada.

At the Canadian border, I was asked if I had a good-to-follow list etc. I said I have everything I need in Canada already. Parked and went into to the immigration office nearby. Met with a nice lady who asked me for our passports, COPR and proof of funds. Since I was already working in Canada and had a Canada bank issued letter with the details of my funds, she seemed convinced. Some of my funds were in the US and I had print outs of latest bank statements. She then filled out the COPR, asked us to sign them and tore out one copy to attach to my passport as proof of permanent residence, said congratulations and sent us on our way.

It took around 1 yr 2 months to get here after the initial application. This website, particularly the 'Applications filed through NS --> Buffalo (Filed from USA)' topic has been a part of my journey and I wish to thank everyone for the support. Good luck with your own cases!!

I will continue to login whenever I can to answer questions that I might be able to.

Cheers,
A.

Dear All,
I am a silent observer of this forum and discussions on this forum have been very helpful for me to make decision on various matters, thanks to all those who actively participate.

I am very pleased to inform you that I received my PPR yesterday (Nov. 1). :D :D
e-cas status "In process" and no update for "medical results received"!!

The problem is that I moved to a new address beginning this Nov. 1 and informed them just on Saturday night (30th Nov.) through online case specific enquiry form.
On Monday early morning I received an email saying they are now in a position to request my PP. I am wondering whether they noticed my change of address request.
If not, will it create any problem for visa stamping? E-cas is not showing my updated address. It is understandable that it would take some time to show updated address on e-cas but they should have this information on my file.

Actually, I was not expecting PPR so fast since I did my medical on Sept. 29. I though that it would take another 3 to 4 weeks so I did not care to update my address.
Little bit worried on this issue. Your comments are very much appreciated.

Here is all my information:

App. sent to CIO: Nov. 10, 2009
Docs Req. Jan. 22, 2010
Docs sent to Buffalo: Feb. 3, 2010
AOR Buffalo: Mar. 26, 2010
In-process: Aug. 26, 2010
Add. doc req: Sept. 1, 2010
Med. req: Sept. 26, 2010
Med. done: Sept. 29, 2010
PPR: Nov.1, 2010

Cheers

Hi jrsee,

Congrats on getting you PPR. As per my knowledge there should be not any issue if your updated address is reflected in ecas.

Congratulations, if you wanna be 100% in the safe side, go and get your visa stamped in person to avoid any miscommunication when they send back your passport.

If it is not possible at all to do the above step, send another reminder containing your new address attached to your passport to make sure that they know your new address, and do not forget to write the new address as well on the return envelop, so they are not gonna change anything in it.

Good luck.

Hey Bro Professional 1,
I really appreciate your valuable information.
I am trying to manage one of my friends to go there. If it is not possible, I will mail it. It's a good point that you mentioned to attach the new address.
Do you have any idea how long does it take to get the passport stamped once it is reached Buffalo?
Other thing I am wondering where can I find that authorization form for others to carry my passport.
Thanks for your time.

hi jsree
congrates for your PPR. I was also looking for a format of the authorization letter. If you get one, I will really appreciate if you please share. Another thing, which is your local office, Buffalo? and at what date your medical reached Ottowa? thank you
