Just sharing news,I received passport request dated on 14th july.I submitted mr and other requested documents on 27th june,RPRF fees was cashed on 29th june.

Hi all A friend of mine who is Cairo VO applicant already got medical done and sent and , today he checked on USA Lottery site, he was selected for Diversity Lottery VISA Now he is confused, stop his Canada PR and proceed for USA DV Visa , should he inform CIC and his Visa Office??? or he can go in parallel applications Canada and USA, specially that DV lottery is not guranteed after selection , processing and waiting is also there :-\
what is your advice !!!!!!! 8)

Well, your firend has to decide what he or she wants. Both have their pros and cons. One is a lottery and other a process. The name says it all isnt it? I will go for process any day as the input will be in my hands. For lottery it is in fate's hands.

Well, deciding which country he wants to emmigrate to would be a good starting point

There is nothing to stop him applying for residency to both the USA and Canada. Indeed, if he can satisfy the residency requirements (Canada is 2 years out of every 5, no idea what USA is) he could technically be residents of both countries.

So my advice would be NOT to cancel his Canada PR. Even if he is granted Canada PR status he doesn't have to take it, he can still go to USA and after 1 year from medicals his Canada PR will expire. If he completes his record of landing his Canada PR will expire after 5 years if he hasn't lived in Canada for at least 2 years and applied to renew.

He should continue processing with both.
It's always good to have the option even if you don't know if you prefer Canada or US.
He is lucky and should take advantage of it, most people don't have even one option

Sorry, but in my opinion choosing who to allow into your country by pure lottery doesn't sound like a very good idea.

Are there any criteria at all? Language? Work experience? Qualifications?
