Happy labor day everyone!!! I hope this signals that the VOs are all set to kick it into high gear and start working 'laboriously' on our applications.
I want everyone who applied before Jan 2011 to have at least their medicals finalized by July 2011. Here's to hoping for the best. ;D

I couldn't agree with you more. I think its high time that VOs across globe press the paddle and keep the dice rolling for all of us. Come Tuesday and we shud see some action straight away

I am sure there should not be of much concerned about your movement since it is the same employer...
But even if you update them little, I am sure they should appreciate your honesty & grant your Visa quickly

Today I completed 75 days with RBVO with no communication from London vo anyway I'm sorry for being away from you guys but I tried to keep the issue out of my mind but I can't do that any more all I want to know is what is the plan for London as in really don't know

I guess this week and the coming one will show some significant turning points for most of us. After so many holidays (I hate them), long weekends, royal weddings, revolutions everywhere, Canadian elections, etc., people will be back to work. Most of us have plans already set on calendars in Canada and are merely letting go of local life activities. It is a disappointment to delay. However, I somehow enjoy the challenge of the wait. The slow tortu... errr, I mean procedure, adds a twist to it. I am not considered being the patient type but I am getting close to being one. Throughout many events in my life I always said to myself: They'll pass, and they did. Time flies when you don't want it to. So get yourself busy doing something else at the meantime.

Ehhh... actually, I should say all that to myself

That's some really good advice Cairo, I just wish it were as easy to do. I've been putting everything on hold ever since I sent in my application just so that I'll be ready to go when the time comes. I even think about Canada while I'm at work, I guess it is one of the downfalls of being a good multi-tasker. You multi-task even when you don't want to!!!

It is nice to see that you are already turning Canadian though, with your 'Eh' comment. Eh?!!!

As you know I was on a vacation ......had lot many pending issues. Today being a Sunday, planing to give couple of hours to this forum ..... 8) 8)

Effects of elections results on immigration

The coming up elections will definitely bring the changes in immigration policies.It is to see how each party takes it up.

The elections due on 2nd May 2011 are expected to bring out big change for Canada in the coming times. Its result is also expected to influence the future policies of the coming government regarding immigration.

Every contesting party has its own different agendas’ and views for the new immigration policies that will come into being after the elections. Basically Canada has five main parties into the election show. Each one if elected will be working from different point of view to improve the immigration sector.

Some of their views which were brought forward to the public give an idea what changes they might bring in for immigrants settled or coming to Canada.

As according to the promises made by the Conservative, they promised if they are re-elected they are planning a strict control over the policies so as to keep a check on human smuggling, which is one of the biggest problem Canadian immigration is facing. They will also implement policies to rationalize the process of deporting overseas law breakers. They are going to implement policies two year condition for permanent residence in the country for the immigrants who sponsored by their partners. They are also planning to form policies for quicker and easy by the foreign credentials recognition in Canada.

If the Green party wins they are willing to fund more for the language training programs in English and French to the immigrants and also to improve their integration with country’s society. They also want to work for a program for the people who are living in Canada without any official acknowledgment and will help them get landed immigration status. They are planning to keep a check and govern the functions of immigration consultants. They also plan to bring changes in Anti-Terrorism Act and Public Safety Act for better action of it.

NDP coming into power promises to form and implement policies that cut shorten the current immigration wait times and family reunification, decreases the backlog of visa applications and improve the procedures for the visitor visa applicants. They will also back up their policies by toughing laws for fraud consultants.

Liberals being elected have also promised to improve the wait time for visas by increasing efficiency. They are creating hope to increase the number of visas which are categorized under Family Class Category.

The Parti Quebecois has not promised much for this sector and have planned to propose change in within their province.
