Thank you Nursemich..i'm hoping i'll atleast receive my 2nd AOR sometime this March..The result will be out on the 24th of feb.

By the way, have you received your MR and PPR by mail already? have you scheduled for a Medical exam?

I'm with you on this. I'd jump at the opportunity of departing a country which has about 36,000,000 barrels of oil in reserve with nothing to show for it for one with 179,000,000 barrels in reserve and investments to show for it.

I am not an expert on this issues, so please DO NOT take my word as final or as the argument you will base your decision on. Please look at: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2006/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=7372, you will see that this NOC cat is related to drilling operations. According to your post you do not meet entirely this requirements, because your 10 years of experience are constructing buildings, which would be different. In case you feel you still meet the requirements make sure that your certificate of work has the wording of the main duties of the NOC cat.

Long term Canada needs to increase its immigration of skilled workers, so in my opinion they will look to increase the FSW1 caps once they have cleared the backlog. But with around 400,000 applications still in the backlog it is likely to take several years to clear.

However I think isolating which skills they need the most and offering FSW1 only to these trades is a good step in the right direction with regards controlling immigration. Once the backlog is cleared they certainly don't want to end up back in that position again.
