Hello All,

I want go to the niagara border from toronto and finish off the landing procedure. I am expecting my passports to be back by tomorrow. Can you please advise the documents that I have to carry to the border? Also, I read some where that fort erie would be a good option instead of niagara border. Is that true? Any experienced people here?

Hi Satya,

Both of us posted the same question at the same time..... ;D

Your passports, COPR paper (u recd email format), extra photographs, POF and in case you want to bring something from India later on (that you dont want to be taxed....jewellery, or any expensive items), then fill up the Goods to follow form. Keep whole PR application handy and also your previous WPs...just in case.

Your passports, COPR paper (u recd email format), extra photographs, POF and in case you want to bring something from India later on (that you dont want to be taxed....jewellery, or any expensive items), then fill up the Goods to follow form. Keep whole PR application handy and also your previous WPs...just in case.

Reg: COPR paper: I didnt receive any thing in the email as attachment. I dont know if they will send it to me along with my passports in mail. Will have to wait till tomorrow.

Reg: Border: Any idea about niagara border vs fort erie border? I heard that if we dont have US visa, at niagara border we will be given a pink slip by US customs since there is no U Turn as such without passing US customs. But, At fort erie, there is a provision for us to take a U Turn before getting through US customs which avoids any issues with US customs. I currently dont have US visa. That is still under process.

Please let me know if you have any idea on this.

I NEED ADVISE
I APPLIED ON NOV 2010. ON FEB IT WAS REFUSED. I MADE 2 APPEALS BUT I RECEIVED THE SAME ANSWER NOW IAM IN MY THIRD ONE THE E-CAS CHANGED FROM DM TO IN PROCESS BUT SINCE LAST WEEK ITS UNACESSABLE.
ANYONE CAN EXPLAIN WHATS GOING ON

Everyone is getting PPR via e-mail so everyday I m checking my e-mail inbox have any message or not.actually very easy to check my mail just touch and open the mail box.very funny but painful wait......best of luck everybody..

Generally they return the original Docs with Medical Request Forms.

Do you have to leave Canada and re-enter to finish the Landing ?
When I got my passport back, they said now we don't have to do the re-enter. I landed at a local Immigration & Citizenship office in Nova Scotia.

You probably will not receive any COPR papers as the old applicants did.....what I meant was to carry a copy of that email along with you.

Regarding the Border issue, you can take either of them. Even if you do not have US visa you can pass through the US Customs and they will ask you the reason for visiting US and you just have to say that you would like to complete the PR formalities and show your PR papers. They just stamp your passport with "Entry denied"...and that's nothing to worry about.

As we spoke earlier that you can complete your landing at any CIC office....you can make an appointment for that. You may be lucky to find a convenient date or you can do the landing the old fashioned way - Flagpoling.

You can double check with Qorax.
