Buffalo Applicants,

Has anyone else other than me and Novsaggi been transferred to other VO?

Rod

Considering my timeline, I would have received some clue about transfer to another VO by now. But unfortunately no news as of right now. Buffalo has fell asleep again.

To me, BUFFALO VO is like those SEVEN SLEEPERS, who slept for 150-200 years in a cave and then wokeup and then slept again.

If you are living in Canada you can order your CAIPS notes or on behalf of someone else for $5 under the Privacy Act.

1) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563E.pdf
This is the latest form for requesting CAIPS. It has the option of Credit card payment.
Complete the form:

a) Visa post (e.g. Buffalo, NY etc.)
b) File number (e.g. BXXXX..)
c) Date of Birth
d) Your Postal address (In Canada address only)

2) Check on the box for the CAIPS or GCCMS notes request in the form.

3) Provide a photocopy of your valid legal stay in Canada (Work permit/visa or details of PR /Citizenship in Canada (Person requesting).

4) Write a cover letter requesting the notes (Person who requests writes that).
5) Consent letter from all the people in the PR application above the age of 18.
6) Write a cover letter (Authorization letter with the details of the person who would get it for you)
7) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm5476e.pdf
Fill the above form as well.
8) Scanned copies are accepted, so you can scan and send all your docs to your relative in Canada.
9) Credit card payment form :

IMM 5667 (04-2011) E
10) Your relative can email them all the docs along with his cover letter to

Hi Rod,
Sent them an email yesterday and got this:

"Your application is in process. No further action is required by you at this time.

We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum. "

Honestly, how do people survive this process ? :(

:'( Don't ask me... I try to save money for when I move to Canada and I keep having to Travel to be with my spouse bc I don't know when CIC will finish our cases... :'(

It is truly unfair that depending on your VO your case is process with such a speed difference. And for me it's even harder to understand how Buffalo can be the slowest being the main VO for Canada it should simply be the best since it represents most of the clients that are taxpayers already in Canada. I truly find this unacceptable

Hi,

i applied under FSW2 on 24 January 2011 and received PER on 24th March and since then no update.
My visa office is Buffalo.
i am now thinking of applying under CEC. Pls seniors let me know what happens to my old application.Do i need to withdraw it and inform CIC?

Thanks.

You can have two applications in parallel. The VO will advise you when to withdraw one application or the other depending on which they make a decision first

Very nice of you, Mitali. Thanks a lot! Thanks to everyone for your useful links!!

Cam,

If it serves you any, according to my attorney when your file gets transferred means certain milestone has been completed on your app. I would say that if you are not one of the transferred you wouldn't get any info even if they complete that milestone.
In my opinion you have as good of a chance as anyone else that got transferred to complete the process at the same time. We know that buffalo can switch your status from one day to the next to in process and you will get MR.
