Hi, humsafar, in response:
Q: Is it Okay if we can Partly Fill the Form on Computer and Partly By Hand using a Black Pen, because some of the fields are not large enough to write the Complete details, Moreover the Font Size is also not equal for all the fields (Questions), for some it is very small and for other it is large.
A: The only requirement is that what you have filled in is legible. The design of the fillable forms is as such that some fields have larger font size than others. This is the standard CIC have set, so it's fine. But you can fill part of the forms in electronically and some in by hand as long as all the information is legible and you signed the documents correctly where needed. The most important thing is not to leave any fields blank! We filled most of our fields in electronically but hand-wrote quite a lot of "N/A", and also the Your Travels form IMM5562 had to be filled in by hand since it was not a computer fillable form.
Q: Does Filling by Hand with a Black Pen creates any negative impact because in the light of above mentioned, we may have to squeeze the handwriting to fill in some details in reply of some questions
A: No it is fine, once again as long as it is legible.
Q: Can we use the initial / Acronym like, HSC (for Higher Secondary School), B.Com (for Bachelor of Commerce) MPA (for Master in Public Administration) because again the fields in respect of these questions are not large enough to write the full descriptions
A: I think that is fine, IMO they will not fail you for this but if they want clarification visa office will ask for it.
Q: Though CIC has asked to sign only two forms i.e. IM0009 1e (Background Declaration) and IMM5046E (Additional Family Information) or is it Okay, if I sing and date on other forms as well, may be at left or right bottom.
A: You only need to sign the forms where there is space for a signature. We only signed those 2 forms, and got our completeness check and PER ok, so I can say with some certainty that you do not need to sign the other forms. However, if you provide letters supplying additional information make sure you sign and date those. Please note if you are paying by credit card you also need to sign and date the correct box on the payment form. Although I would strongly advise paying by banker's draft if this is possible!
Q: Is it enough to write N/A only in the reply of Main question in respect of question which has various fields / sub questions or do we have to write N/A in each and every field.
A: We wrote N/A in pretty much every field possible, just to be on the safe side - so after you have printed your forms go through and if there are any blank fields put N/A in the column. The people doing the completeness check will probably not be trained visa officers and therefore the staff have probably been told to return any applications with blank fields. Better to be safe than sorry with this I think!
Q: If the children are infant i.e. around 1 year of age, then what should a person write in the question relating to their education, language and height (as they will grow quickly)
A: You must declare full information regarding all dependent children. If they are only 1 year of age I would simply put the truth down - i.e. no education, no language and short height! Or put N/A but do not leave the fields blank.
Filling in the forms can be a daunting experience, but a few key things to remember
1) ALWAYS make sure you sign and date where a signature is required IM0009 1e (Background Declaration) and IMM5046E (Additional Family Information)
2) ALWAYS make sure you sign and date any additional information provided on seperate sheets
3) NEVER leave a box blank. If it does not apply, put "N/A"
4) ALWAYS make sure what you write is legible, if you have to fill in any of the fields by hand
5) ALWAYS double check the forms before posting. Ideally get someone else to double check them for you since it is very eas to miss things if you've filled them in yourself.
6) ALWAYS tell the truth on the forms. It is very important that CIC get the impression you are being completely open and honest with them, and if further down the process they discover you have misled them in any way, not only can they fail your application but it could also jeopardise any future applications.
Best of luck with the forms!
Wayne.
