As for long naps.... as anxious as I am to see my own PER, its a wonder I manage to get any sleep at all. On the plus side though, yesterday's PERs were received when I was still awake so looks like the correlation has ended. Phew!

Pippin: I'm glad to hear Feb 14th isn't a national holiday, I can't for the life of me remember where I had read it but I did find it quite odd.

5th January sounds way too early to hear from VO - unless you think they will send an AOR telling us they received the documents from CIO?

Even if they look at post-June-26 applications right away (and honestly no idea how they will slot in the queue with pre-June-26 applications since they are 2 stages ahead, having already past the former 120 day stage and final eligibility review), the security/background checks will take at least 30 days. Then you have to figure in time to request medicals.

Also you have to factor in the time taken to transport the applications to the various countries. As I understand it they do not use Canada post, but a diplomatic courier, but it will still take a week or two.

My guess is that the first applicants to hear medical requests from VO will be somewhere between February and April.

Those numbers are based on pre-June-26 system, which included a 120 day stage to gather documents and then a final eligibility review. We have already past those 2 stages, so time at visa office for post-June-26 applicants should be faster, by some months. We of course won't have a true picture of likely timescales until the first medical requests come in.

I was reading about how important credit history is when you get to Canada and I was wondering if, say, I have an account with a bank like HSBC where I am now and then open an account with HSBC in Canada, would they then be able to access my information and credit history? Or is it always that you have to start from scratch?

We have to start right from the scratch ..... :'( :'(
...... it's like credit history on their land ..... that is one one of the challenges that we have to overcome, that too as soon as possible!!!

So I think what those who have received PER are now waiting for is for the first person to report their visa office has received their paper file?

Perhaps we need another column "2nd AOR received" and another colour?

Once the paper file is received, IMO it will take at least 6 weeks to do security/background checks and send medical requests, and that's IF they will do them right away and not queue them behind the existing pre-June-26 applicants who have reached the security/background check stage.

The thing is the physical files have not reached the VOs yet, at least as of yesterday for a PER received on Nov 25th. So, we may have to wait a bit more for them to arrive @ the VO and so i guess it would be around February to hear from the VOs.

I agree with you Wayne There would be a second acknowledgment and this time it's an AOR from the VO

Isn't it a good idea to confirm this process with individual VOs? May be people who have got their PERs can mail them and ask about this?

i confirm with bank and they told that draft have been cashed..but i dont know the exact date...so now what we can assume now.....
