Received By Visa Office does not mean Buffalo haven't started processing your case!

I made the mistake of relying on the ecas status. Turns out that in June, Buffalo sent me a letter requesting additional documents, which I only just got yesterday. This was delayed by the Canadian Postal Strike and the fact it was sent to my old address, meaning I overshot the 60 day deadline by 2 days. I'm hoping that this will not mess up my application but it goes to show that you cannot rely on ecas alone to know what is happening.

Buffalo requested T4 Forms which prove my employment and show my salary as well as a reference letter. I didn't include this with the application before because I didn't think it was necessary. I have immediately faxed and emailed buffalo these documents today with an explanatory cover letter.

I think I will be OK, but I'm annoyed as this has cost me 60 days in processing time! There was no ecas update, no email notification, nothing... when I faxed them to update my address in July they never even mentioned in the follow up email that they had sent me any letters!

Anyway, just a word of warning for anyone who might be relying on ecas to tell them if their case is processing.

Good to hear that your case is moving fwd now. Please keep us Buffalo friends updated as you progress. I hope all os us who has bee in RBVO means we are actually IP too.

Received the passports today with the visa. Went to collect it personally at the Canadian consulate in Sydney, Australia......The lady at the reception was so sweet...and the visa was shining in the passport with the glossy finish it has........Thanks for all the wonderful and invaluable suggestions and support from the different forum members, who are doin a tremendous job by helping each other, whom they have not even met once in their life..............Thanks guys....keep it going.....

just a while ago, my consultant called me from Canada (He lives there). According to him, he has got a letter from VO through snail mail whereby the VO has required my latest PCC along updated Bank Statement within 60 days of the issuance of the letter dated 3rd August 2011 (Note: They have cut 90 days and there is pen written 60 days)

I m IN PROCESS since the same date i.e. 3rd August 2011.

Now can anybody tell me at what stage actually i m? Is it normal to have such updated requirements right at the date when E-cas turns into IN PROCESS?

Need ur help to understand the situation plz.

Its a good sign my friend...don't waste time and get the documents done...it has to go to Canada first and I am pretty sure that ur consultant cut down to 60 days as he must has to do something in this regard....so do it fast....and its a good sign that someone is doing work on it....

Mine is still RBVO and today its like 4 months from the date of 2nd AOR but I am still positive.........

almost the same thing happened with me, except the asked me to send the pcc after 5 days agter my status turned inprocess. and since june no updates for me. actually i think its not really in process like they are going to send you MR soon, but at least its a step forward.
