Hi Members,

I received an email from Buffalo VO to get my wife's fingerprints from RCMP yesterday. Status on E-CAS still RBVO. I am not sure how to go about getting the fingerprints in India. Does she has to go to Consulate or Local Police? Any help, would be really appreciated.

Thanks,
Shiv
Dear Shiv,

Congratulations...
You have an amazing timeline compared to other buffalo applicants eventhough you are on "RBVO"

one question what is your answer to this question???
Is there a Royal Canadian Mount Police in India so that your wife can go an get her fingerprint in India.??????
It is stupidity...
Send an email back asking clarifications and reasoning out how can it be done!!!!
Surely they will exempt your wife from this

thats what I think

expecting your thoughts

The Postal Strike appears to be a series of ROTATING STRIKES so it will affect different cities at different times. I am sure CIO will send out mail as soon as they are able to, so it may not create the same bottleneck as if it was an all out work stoppage. It may impact Courier company timelines if they get busier though.

NowI did some reasearch for you and got a best answer !!!!

even if your spouse is in India, you can do it

Full set of fingerprints required

To conduct a criminal record check we require a full set of fingerprints, including both rolled and flat impressions of all ten fingers.
Complete all fields on the fingerprint form.
Incomplete forms will be returned to the applicant unprocessed.

If you are IN CANADA :

you must have your fingerprints taken on form C-216C at your local police station or private accredited fingerprinting agency.
Depending on the police jurisdiction, a fee may be required.

If you are OUTSIDE OF CANADA :

contact the nearest police force which offers fingerprinting services. The RCMP will accept fingerprint forms from foreign countries that contain the following:

rolled and flat impressions of all ten fingers taken with black ink
full name, date of birth and sex of the applicant
the name and address of the police agency
the signature of the official taking the fingerprints

NOTES :

Canadian embassies and consulates may not have adequate resources or facilities to provide this service.
The ability to submit fingerprints electronically to the RCMP is not currently available outside Canada

Entemaria,

I did check this, and found out that Consulate General of Canada, Chandigarh do have option of electronic fingerprints (1 of my friend is in Local Police in Ontario, and he informed me about this). I have called RCMP in Ottawa, and they will revert to me on Monday on this. I am not sure, if I can do anything more.

Waiting for RCMP to revert, that will give better picture.

Regards,
Shiv

I have many unread pages on the Forum so I don't know if anyone answered this ques yet, but...if you scroll across on the International Spreadsheet you'll see a DESTINATION column. There are also threads started (Vancouver, Calgary, etc) where people can exchange dates and details. Is this what you were hoping for?
Those are good source of first level information, and I suppose sub-groups may have evolved with the aim to provide direct support / hand-holding for the first few weeks after landing. I am fortunate that I have a cousin whom with I can lean against and stay with for the initial weeks till I am able to complete the post landing formalities and find my own accommodation. This may not be the case for all as there may be others who are planning to land at a place where they do not know anyone. A network of support from those who have already landed may be the answer. Our landings will come at different periods, and so long as we have the time and are willing, we could directly pass our experience to those who land after us.

Thanks,

Yes we need to get them fill soon. I am also wondering whether instead of it merely being passive information, if it could be developed further. I have posted my following thoughts on this earlier.

Those are good source of first level information, and I suppose sub-groups may even have evolved with the aim to provide direct support / hand-holding for the first few weeks after landing. I am fortunate that I have a cousin whom with I can lean against and stay with for the initial weeks till I am able to complete the post landing formalities and find my own accommodation.
