No pans yet for flying because I will be focusing on studying for license exams and will arrange travelling by the exam dates in november I will be celebrating this success now in egypt with family and friends till I do that again in canada with new friends and nature and will be more happy to pass the exams and be ready to work for my profession

Thx Uzma I have started seeing the line for medicals have been recieved in ecas after I have done medicals by 2 weeks and a half and before getting passport request by around the same time 2 to 3 weeks.

Congratulations dear friend, its good that they have returned the reference letters and documents so that you can use them in getting your qualifications recognized in Canada, when my turn comes (ISA ) I will ask them for the contracts also because I sent originals if they didn't return them back.


Congratulations again Amr ... Where are you landing ? and When ? Please share your experience of finding a place to live, finding a job, etc ...

hehe Magdy thx a lot for your sweet congratulations. I am definetly having great mind relief after major & minor concerns. It has been a long process for my heart though short in terms of CIC rules At least now is time to relocate efforts for a better future. I have no idea yet where to land despite the fact I am totally thinking about toronto for some reasons. But wait ... my place of landing is not necessarily the same where I would live. Its quite confusing when you have more than a good option to go for and thats the benefit of chosing canada here we go
I wont be landing before october I guess so many of you will be preceeding me isA However with the costs of living, I cant still give my input. This is because I have been staying in toronto from november 2010 till almost mid march 2011. So renting a basement apartment in toronto is something between 700 $ to double that amount even triple. Let us say average 800 to 1200 in a decent area not far from the subway. It differs from one location to another and the lenght of stay could play a role in better rates. With regards to food budget, it is all about how are you going to eat. Home or outdoors ? For say, home expenses for food for a single person is in average 250 $ to 300 $. Transport in toronto will be based on using the ttc ( Toronto Transit Commission ) where you can use with a single monthly membership the buses, the subway and the street car for around 120 $ as far as I remmember. 3 dollars a token for an adult. You can find more about that through this link http://www3.ttc.ca/ . Finaly coming to phone lines, its a major thing to explore before choosing any. This is because of the fact that you pay for incoming and outgoing calls to the contrary of the system in egypt. By the way, if you didnt have a good phone plan while following up how many calls you do or how long and at what time of the day you are calling/receiving, you may end up paying a huge monthly bill. Finaly I have got my passport back Stamped with an immigrant visa valid till date of expirey of the medicals
They have also included a CPR i.e Confirmation of Permanent Residence which is a document showing my details and holding one photo of me

They have clearly mentioned to have the visa and the CPR document with me when I land. They advised to accompany birth certificate ,school and university transcipts with me as supporting documents. Also they have given some links to read to help with working,housing and landing. Obviously, they have returned some documents that I intially sent to CIO like the university transcipt and the birth certificate translated and reference letters of employers. However they have kept the contracts and the IELTS certificate.

I was expecting Decision Made today ....but its still the same ...no updates yet ....passports and medicals were sent two months back and the the medicals received line is there since last two weeks but no changes yet ...so maybe they r taking more time in updating ...
I hope they give us some good news by this week ....the wait is killing .....

Hi Uzma,

I can understand, you were among the first to send the passports for stamping from the group 8). Apparently, NDVO has no logical queue after we send the passports ???. It looks completely random :. All we can do it wait a bit more..

Also i would like to quote the fact that 'This forum is yet to hear about a single rejected applicant after their RPRF is encashed as far as the NDVO is concerned. So, you can relax a bit .

Congrats Bhavik Yes, the VO does a quick check on what was already completed by the CIO(67 points, selection factors) and then puts the file into 'In Process' only after which the standard documentation checks and background checks are done.
