Great post Advance123, it is always good to separate fact from fiction. My understanding from reading the material is, while the policies of some other parties may actually be more favorable to immigrants, polls show that the conservatives are expected to win again.

You also have to consider the difference between a party who thinks they have a good chance of winning and will have to make good on their promises, as opposed to the parties who probably will NOT lead and so have the luxury of promising "more" in the HOPE of getting in.

Dude,,,,we all know that whenever there was changed in govt. there was different plan on immigration. If you assume that Lib. party win then i am sure they will be huge effect on Current immigration process..
That why 2004 applicants are still waiting for VISA ....Hope now you got my point to favor Conservatives.

Streamline the process for deporting foreign criminals;
Impose a two year conditional Canadian permanent resident status for applicants who are sponsored by a spouse or common-law partner and who have been in that relationship for less than two years; and
Have foreign credentials recognized in Canada faster and more easily.
Liberals
If elected, the Liberals have promised to:

Reduce wait times for immigration applications and increase efficiency of the current Canadian immigration system;
Increase the number of visas that are issued in the Family Class Category;
Increase federal funding for language training programs in Canada for those wanting to improve their English or French proficiency; and
Improve the system of recognizing foreign credentials in Canada.
NDP
If elected, the New Democratic Party has promised to:

Improve immigration wait times and fast-track family reunification;
Reduce the backlog of applications at the visa offices;
Develop better procedures and appeals for those applying for visitor visas;
Accelerate the recognition of foreign credentials in Canada;
Reinstate federal funding for immigrant settlement agencies, especially those cut in Ontario;
Implement the “Once in a Lifetime Act” which would allow Canadians a one-time opportunity to sponsor a relative who is not a member of the family class to come to Canada; and
Ensure tough laws against crooked consultants are enforced.
Green Party
If elected, the Green Party promises to:

Allocate greater funding for language training programs in English and French in Canada;
Establish a program for people living in Canada without official status that will lead to full landed immigrant status;
Improve the integration of newcomers into Canadian society;
Toughen and enforce regulations governing the practice of immigration consultants; and
Amend the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Public Safety Act so that formal charges can be brought against all those detained.
Bloc Québécois
Throughout the election campaign, the Bloc Québécois have been fairly quiet on issues regarding immigration. your case is on the same time frame of mine...for me medicals done on 29 March, received by Cairo VO on 3rd April(which could make some delay as it should be sent to London not Cairo...I still dn't know what will happen)....I paied by a bank draft from KSA..so it may cause some delay till they encash it...I'm looking for the 4th line of (medical received) everyday in my e-cas...I'm still waiting for passport request...I wish to get it within the next 2 weeks by max.

I am not trying to be a wizard here but I think, in my case, that nothing will happen during this week. There has been too many holidays. I am looking at next week and the one after, which makes a time frame of 4-6 weeks after medicals. Sounds fair to me.

Got some work that will keep me busy this week. Can see some brightness at the end of the tunnel after all.

I will definitely keep you updated if any change in my status.

Cheer up and get yourself busy doing something. Canada's not the end of the world, though it is

Dude, a change in government is not necessarily a bad thing.

2004 applicants are still waiting for VISA because of the system in place at that time.

No sensible government will reverse an improving process, rather they will enhance it.

Hence I don't get your point.

Welcome to the forum and Congrats for MR ...... Will add you to ND tracker. Nice you came clear with your queries. My views -
(1) There was a particular section where they have asked for 'Individual's Military Service' (if any). I hope you have filled that part. What is your NOC....??
(2) For a person from defence background, either he should have a short service commission (SSC) or must have taken voluntary retirement on the basis of extreme compassionate ground. Otherwise age will not be a favorable factor (if it is full retirement / super annuity) for immigration ........ am I correct?? Moreover one can't immigrate if the person is still in service ....... and I sincerely hope you are not .....
(3) Your military record means that they want the 'Service Record' as issued by Military authorities at the time of you leaving the service....... It contains your military history like where all you were posted, time duration, rank, etc.
(4) Military record is NOT PCC. You have to go to the nearest Police Station / Police Comm. Office - basically to find the procedure for PCC (in Kerala) OR you can directly approach your RPO to get the same. But remember the time line for submission. I am surprised .... (i) They have not asked for PCC (ii) You have not submitted (iii) And still you are asking about PCC.......
(5) You can even PM applicants from Kerala to find out the exact procedure related to PCC ... see ND VO tracker.

By the way -- You made me laugh with your typo error .... when you mentioned Along with the thongs to be submitted they haev said ..... ;D ..... since when NDVO started asking for thongs.........
