Still only 2 London applicants heard from VO?

Dear Wayne, Indira, Anil and other senior members I need some help with information related to Police Clearance.
I had lived in the US for a few years but have not visited the US since 2007.

When I was preparing to send all the documents to CIO in October 2010 I was not able to send the FBI clearance certificate/letter as it would take time but I did send copies with my application to CIO of all my documents that I had sent to the FBI and also a copy of Fedex delivery report showing that the FBI has received my documents. 8)

I had received the FBI clearance letter in November 2010 dated for October 15th 2010 and a part of it mentions that "The result of the above response is only effective for the date the submission was originally returned. For more updated information, please submit new fingerprints of the subject."

Since I have not visited the US from 2007 onwards would I need to submit a new FBI clearance letter again once I get the MR or would this present clearance letter from the FBI be fine. I am not sure, : would appreciate your input.

Not very sure about US/FBI police clearances, perhaps a US applicant can better comment?

But generally don't bother getting anything unless they ask for it IMO, else it could just be a waste of time and money.

It is my understanding from what I have read in this forum that for CIC the Police clearance are valid for 6 months. As a lot of things in this forum are mainly based on people's opinion and not based on real facts I wouldn't worry. I checked CIC (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/united-states.asp) and in their website there is no mention of the matter. NOt in the general section nor in the specific for the US. So I think you should be ok.

Not to mention you haven't been here in 4 years!

Its been some time. Been caught up with work...

See that the tracker is getting real colorfull. Congratulations to those who have received their PER, AOR, MR, and.. wow....PPR!!

As for myself, am still in limbo. My ECas still show "In Process" with the added statement that they have "started processing on 14 March 2011". Singapore VO seem to do things very differently from others - different form of 2nd AOR, different timelines from AOR to MR..... I don't think anyone with Singapore VO has progressed beyond AOR.

I read a post of yours about POF at the point of entry. I talked to my attorney/consultant (I know a lot of people oppose them, and others had terrible experiences, but I did my homework and I know about mine and his experience) and a bank statement should suffice. I would print a recent one and print probably the online balance page from the bank the day before. If you want to be extra sure, get a bank signature and stamp.

My attorney's reply was: "If it sufficed in your application " it will suffice at POE. And I must say it makes total sense. I am not sure about this just being a forum rumor or maybe it happens with bank statements from certain countries.

OK thanks. It is just that if the exchange is unfavourable we don't want to go the expense of changing over £10,000 into CAD just for POF at entry. Particular since we aim to land in early September, but won't be moving permanently to Canada until the New Year 2012 (that's the plan anyway).

AFAIK all full-time education is counted. So add that onto your childhood education to get the total?

Both got medical requests by letter post. They put "waived" simply because there was no 2nd AOR.

I still just find it strange that October applicants have received medical requests where July, August and September applicants have heard zip!
