Hearty congratulations to everyone who have received their PERs, 2nd AORs and MRs. It seems that things are progressing steadily.
It is a little disheartening to see that all the VOs are not being consistent. I think (not meaning any offense) its a little unfair that some VOs are racing ahead while others are still to contact even the earliest PER receivers. We've seen people from Manila VO get their 2nd AOR in just 20 days after their PERs; while asaif from London's VO got his PER on the 29th of Nov and is still to hear something.
I know London has a huge backlog to clear but then they should also be sufficiently staffed to be able to keep up with the other VOs. It isn't fair that we get pushed to the back of the queue just because we have London or Buffalo as our VOs.
Anyway, since there isn't much we can do..... I wish everyone all the best and pray that we get some good news this coming week. ;D
Alas the process of emmigrating to Canada has very little to do with fairness. It is probably even more unfair for the applicants from 2007 or earlier who probably will still not get visas this year.
But I agree it is frustrating. Especially seeing London applicants whose applications arrived at CIO in July still not had 2nd AOR yet, and some Manila applicants whose applications arrived many months later have med requests already.
Regarding London - they are the busiest visa office in the world with regards total applications, and have a massive allocation of visas to issue for 2011 (they will issue 17,500 FSW visas alone). I think some of the other visa offices are smaller and have cleared the >J26applicants already at the background/security/medicals stage so are in a position to process our applications, and only process the <J26 applications as they arrive into the background/security/medicals stage.
I do not think the visa offices are allowed to give >J26 applications priority over <J26 applications, however our applications arrive at visa office at a later stage.
I think London and Buffalo applicants can still expect PPR by June/July/August but we're gonna be a couple of months behind faster offices like Manila, Singapore and New Delhi. We're hoping for PPR by July so we don't have to do PCC all over again, and would really like med requests by May at the latest so we can put our house on the market and catch the summer window.
