application was sent to VO office in Makati

hello everyone,im new to this forum, my husband applied for me on november 2013 and Jan.22, 2014 the application was sent to the Visa Office in Makati.. same date my husband recieved an email saying that he met the requirements for elligibility as a sponsor..what does it mean? is it an approval already? how long would it take for me to wait for them to call for my passport?... also my husband is planning to apply for me as visiting visa....ok lang ba yon....
Pls. help me..any reply will be appreciated...thank you...

Perhaps you mean Manila office??

Anyways it just means sponsor was approved. Now they will do your (applicant) processing. Plan for anywhere up to 1 year, but check the Manila thread to see people's recent time lines.

Hi Rob To, thank you for your reply...May I ask..Is applying for visiting visa a good option? Because my husband wants me to apply ... since that the application is in manila office now... is there a high possibility that it will be approved?

You can try to apply for a temporary resident permit,
the application is 200 dollars I think, but it will depend on the immigration officer
if he approve it or not...
The problem for you is that your file is already in process and if they call you
your are not going to be available....
When are you planning to return....
or do you plan to go and stay.....

Good luck and send a message if you decide to apply,
but don't apply for a tourist visa, apply for a temporary resident permit.

No, there isn't much chance of a TRV being approved. Because your spouse lives in Canada and you are in the midst of a PR application, CIC will consider you a high risk to overstay and most likely refuse the TRV.

You can apply but don't get your hopes up.

A temporary residence permit is something you apply for if you are inadmissible to Canada for some reason, for example, because you have a criminal conviction of some sort. Very difficult to get unless you're Conrad Black or George Bush.
