Hi,
I already have Canadian citizenship through my Mother who was born in Canada and moved to the UK in 1960 where she still lives. I am in the process of completing the application (CIT0001E) so that my citizenship card can be updated with my married name.
Can someone please help with a couple of queries regarding section 8a applicant's parents?
1. Where it asks how my Father obtained citizenship, I have stated that he doesn't have citizenship (he was born in the UK). Is this the correct thing to do? I have also left the following sections relating to leaving Canada for more than a year etc. blank as they aren't relevant. Is this ok?
2. I have stated the date that my Mother left Canada but there doesn't seem to be an option to say that she hasn't returned to Canada. Should I just leave the date field blank in this case?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Mandy
