You will receive confirmation through mail or email.Kahisys said:Greetings.
On the 6th of this month, I sent my application for an extension of visitor status through postal services, and I wanted to know: how can I check where my application is at? If it's being processed or not?
Thanks for your help.
You should have sent it by courier. Your courier tracking number and receipt are the proof.Kahisys said:Okay...
I sent the application via postal service on the 6th. My last limit to submit it was the 11th.
Does that mean I'm too late, or the postal stamps works as proof?
The most that can happen is that you missed the extension frame and the application is refused because of that. If so then you will have to reapply but for restoration of status.Kahisys said:Oh f***.
Does it mean I can get in trouble for being late?
Hard to tell, some count it on the "mailed date" and some count it on the "recieved date". Usually what is taken into account is the day they recieve the application.Kahisys said:But do you know which date they'll count as the submission date? When they receive it, or the stamp of the letter saying I sent it the 6th? ???
I would give it a month.Kahisys said:How long should I wait before I start worrying, then? I've seen the processing time right now is about 114 days.
Both.Kahisys said:Does that mean I'll get the answer is around that many days, or do they send a mail saying that they received your application?
