Hey guys just thought I'd update. Cic has returned our papers as I missed a identification document for my ex. And my son turned 18 before they opened the package so need a police check now for him. We had an outdated imm008 but this wasnt mentioned however I think I'll send a new one.. my only question is is your name typed in the signature box sufficient for sh oi uld I print it hand sign t gf en scan it back to the PC too send to my hubby?

Everything must have an original (hand-written) signature, not just typed.

We suffered 3 months delay because of that minor not signing on Sch A it MUST also be signed by hand beside typed full name. AND it does not cost millions for them to add few words on the form itself, even if it is CLEARLY mentioned on GUIDE.

I couldn't remember if I hand-signed or not on Schedule A and was worried my application would be returned but I received my AOR 2 days ago. Do you know if it means my application was complete and they started the process? What are the chances of the application being returned after AOR if the signature is missing on Schedule A?

Ours was returned before any contact like AOR1 or 1st email etc..And it came by ROAD took well 10 days. If U got AOR2 ,,I can't see any problems at this stage. Cheers

You’re not the first and won’t be the last to be caught out by this. The form hasn’t been updated since the days when it was sent electronically, later on in the process. Now you can send it with the paper application, the signature is required, but as you say, the form doesn’t state this, just the guide.

AOR is only given for complete applications. The whole purpose of acknowledging that receipt is to tell you that you have a complete application and all forms are the correct versions, completed correctly, no missing signatures, etc. Once you have AOR, you’re safe in the knowledge that there’s no errors in your application.

You may get asked for things later in the process, a criminal check may have expired, you may have to get updated photos, etc, but these are pretty minor and easy things for you to solve.

Relax knowing your application is now being processed!

@1887CAN, I am so relieved to hear that and thank you for explaining it in great details!

Good to hear above. We should all help each other. :)

No problem at all! AOR is an important step. It’s the first real check of the application package by IRCC, looking for any obvious errors and omissions. You could still be asked for addition things during processing, but these will likely be because of the circumstances of your application, like the things I’ve mentioned previously, or extra proof for common law relationships if the officer needs more proof, etc.

Hello! Question regrding the signture part on the IMM0008 Consent and declaration part, particularly the Consent to release information to intend province/territory of destination, my husband haven’t signed it but he had signed the box below where you can electronically type your name and then sign it after... is there any possibilities that they will return our package? i will really appreciate all your replies..
thank you!

One of the checklists items was missing signature so yes there is a big chance they will send it back
