Application Status - CHC Islamabad "Winter 2013"

Hello Expert members of this forum,


I got my visa, and would be landing soon. Please tell, Would I need Health Insurance before arriving in Canada. Or Could I get insurance after landing in Canada.

nothing your university will get you an insurance so nothing from here

cngratulations welcome to canada. future canadian citixen.
in which province you are coming?
if you are coming to Saskatchewan then its free here.
other provinces they might charge you around 100$ for your health card.
no need to bring health insurance from Pakistan until you think you will have serious issue during flight/initial days at canada.

if you are coming to Saskatchewan then its free here.
other provinces they might charge you around 100$ for your health card.

I applied for Pre-MBA Winter 2013 at Thompson River University BC and got the admission acceptance. Paid the fees.
Applied for study permit on Aug 30th, 12. Oct 15th received medicals and also CHC asked some documents for my spouse as he lived in US in the past. They requested for FBI report, Texas Police Clearance and Proof of legal stay in US. I got the Texas Police clearance, did medicals and sent the proof of his legal stay to CHC Islamabad on Nov 13th. FBI certificate will take at least 3 months to come back. I don't know what will happen to my application now. Will they wait for FBI certificate or they will process my application as is. Anybody has seen anything like this befor. Kindly share your experience. I don't know if my applicaton will accepted or rejected.

well....im not exactly sure but this is what i make of this situation....

if ur spouse is accompanying u thru ur application ...then i dont think CHC will process ur application until all the docs needed from u and spouse are provided to them...

if not accompanying....then u can simply write a letter or email to CHC...explaining that this particular doc will take 3 months....and requesting them to make an exception...so that u don't miss the start of ur classes.....and that u can submit the FBI certificate later once its received for their record....
