Application Status: Application Received

My friend and I are sponsoring our spouses from Sri Lanka.
We both sent our spousal applications on 29/Dec and he got AOR on 12/Jan and I got AOR on 18/Jan.

His application status was "In Process" and said they were working on it. And as of 16/Jan my friend got an email saying that his application is being transferred to VFS in Sri Lanka.

My application status is as "Application Received" and just says:
1. We received your application for permanent residence on January 3, 2017.
2. Medical results have been received.

I know starting Dec. 7, they are speeding up processing.

Anyone else experiencing a similar situation with OUTLAND sponsorship?
When would my application be transferred to VFS?
Or is my application just in queue and will be transferred soon?

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

Your application will be transferred to a visa office from CPC Mississauga when they have approved the sponsor. Takes 30 - 60 days, sometimes less sometimes more. Recently it has been around 30 - 45 days.

You are in queue and it is luck of the draw that your friend seems to be going faster than you - I would not read anything into this.
