Application for Spousal Sponsorship for Permanent Residency and OWP Open Work Permit was received Sep 30 2020 and today got in the mail found it was returned because we didn't include the FBI police certificate (had included the one from Ohio). So she's from the US and her passport 6 month expiry is March 12 2021 (She arrived here in Sep 2020 right after we got married). I could talk to politicians and escalate things, but the issue is so big with this immigration it won't fix anything in the short term.
I can get by without her working (yes it would be nice to have her income) but she came here right after she graduated from Physical Therapy Assistant and has no work experience since. So because we have to start from scratch (which I disagree with), her Manitoba driver's license expires March 12 2021 and took several trips to get that approved and don't think they'll extend that further, so if she stayed here she'd be not be able to drive. I'd rather not be apart from her but what would you do? For inland it would be 6-8 months before she'd probably get her OWP and 11-12 months for the PR, whereas outland she can start working right away, be with the family and friends (and good weather) back in the US and we'd still be able to visit if COVID allows (instead of her being trapped in Canada for another year).
Questions (Answers any if you can):
-Would you apply for Outland instead of Inland?
-Should I use the same checklist/forms as before if it's still applicable?
-Are the bar codes from the Sponsorship forms still valid and should use them or just re-do them?
-Should we rush having her leave March 12 2021 when her Passport 6 month date is up, or it's okay if she stays longer (a week or two)?
-The fees I paid before (PR, OWP and biometrics fee) I'd just keep the same receipt and don't have to pay again? (Would I get the OWP fee back)?
-Would you mail in the US FBI fingerprints and then do the online criminal check application now and then submit the application from within Canada or have her do the finger prints in person in the US and then do the online criminal check?
-Anything else I should be considering?
