Hey there,

As some of you know from the April 2012 forums that my application got rejected because the officer was not satisfied that I met the skilled work experience and the Canadian educational credentials requirements.

They said that although I did obtain a degree from a Canadian institution my transcript indicated that I was not registered in full time studies for two years. My application was then evaluated under the worker stream and was told that I have not acquired 24 months of full-time employment in the 36 months prior to the submission of my application in a NOC level A, B, 0.

Now I will be applying again in January 2013 and even got a letter from the office of the registrar stating that I was a full time student at the university from September 2007 to April 2009 and have gathered all the necessary documents again. I even went ahead and ordered my TOEFL results again which I gave earlier in March.

My biggest concern however is my birth certificate and police clearence that i got from my country. I sent original copies of both my birth certificate and the police clearence. Is there a way I can get those back? How am i going to get back my birth certificate? Getting a police clearence from the regional waterloo police isn't an issue but getting one from back home takes a fairly long time. Since my application got rejected in October 2012 shouldn't they already have all that information?

Also will the new Work experience take effect in January 2013 for CEC Applications? I currently stand at 20 months of fulll time work experience rather then the 24 assuming they strictly look at my application from a worker stream perspective.

No, it becomes the property of CIC and they don't return applications after rejection

You'll need to re-submit everything again, remember there is an expire date for PCC so becareful with that! It's a pain but there is no other way around it. I had to fetch PCC from 3 different countries so if they rejects me, I'll have to order them again

Not sure when exactly the requirements will be in place, everyone here is waiting for the answer as well. But from what everyone has said, the new rule will allow you to apply after working 1-yr full time instead of 2-years

Do you think you can get your local officials or hospital to issue you a new one?? did you make copies of it before you mailed it with your application?? I think with birth certificate, they asked for a copy of the original, instead of the actual original version. Where are you from?

Just wanted to point out that you have to submit IELTS, not TOEFL.

Regarding police certitificates, you can send them later on as well. It is not mandatory for you to attach them in the initial application.

A copy of birth certificate is required, not the original one. When you sent your original birth certificate, did you make any copies of that document? If yes, then you can just send that. If not, then you have to get it before you send in your application.

Hey Red&Black

thanks for the response..I do apologize i made a typo. I gave IELTS not Toefl and have already requested another copy which should be arriving in mail any day. I'll see what i can do with regards to the birth certificate (Jeez i feel like Donald Trump). I'll look around to see if i sent a copy or the original, i dont quite remember. If i sent the copies that would be awesome lol.. if not then it would be a bit of a pain.

Okay. Just a word of advice, whenever you apply ... always try to keep a copy of all the documents you sent. It just helps when you encounter unforeseen situation. And this does not necessarily applies regarding your application to CIC, but in general too. Good luck!

Hi bold9k,

Good luck in re-applying?. What do you mean the transcript doesnt say full time. I took 3 years program and each term was five courses as it shows in the transcript and it doesnt say full time which make sense. Should it be a problem?

Thanks

If you are taking 4 or more than 4 courses in a semester, then you are deemed full-time. It shouldnt be a problem, dont worry.
