so wondering about our application made in September 2015.. (sponsorship approved soon after).

wait time expected over a year but we finally checked in today (as we are back in Canada now since december) to renew 6 month visa or see whats up.

Apparently they contacted us in DECEMBER for missing information:

-Medical Exam

-Police Records check (which we supplied in the application).

and have now REJECTED our application since we did not submit those documents within 30 days….

:(

but we never got notice to even supply those.

what now??

In canada with days ticking before 6 months Visa expires...

Do you have proof that the PCC was submitted with the application? Did you make a copy of it for your records before sending it to CIC?

If you do/did, then you should contact your local MP to see if s/he can help. They have a direct line of communication with CIC.

But...the medical was actually required upfront. Some people (Inland applicants) often wait for CIC to request it. Why didn't you do it upfront?

Good luck!

Where did you spend your time between Dec 2015 and June 2016? Is it 6 months? Then you have to get a NEW police clearance from that country of residence.
Any time they ask you for something what you have already sent that means they need a fresh one.

Where did you "check in" for the request and why did not you check in earlier? And what was your address (mailing?)for communication with CIC and where did you actually live?

MP cannot help you. MP only may talk to the agent to get some information. MP cannot request anything from CIC except information which you also could get if you request CAIPS.

PCC - we should have proof as we got it translated back in Poland, within the acceptable time frame before submitting application.

Wasn't sure about Medical, thought Polish nationals didn't need it….

Never checked in as we got word that Sponsorship approved back in September, and waiting time for Application was more than a year… figured no rush lol

but my main questions of importance maybe you guys know - do we have to re-do everything now!?

every PR applicant must get the medical done. i am not sure why you would think Polish nationals don't need one?

as Ponga suggested, you can try getting in contact with your MP. they may be able to get the application reopened. otherwise you will have to resubmit.

OP already said she has been in Canada since Dec....

MP can most definitely help. There have been many cases where MPs have contacted CIC to have apps reopened.

Omg :(, everyone has to have a medical done. It says it on the application document requirements. Sorry this happened to you. Hope you get everything sorted out.

A medical is required for every single person immigrating to Canada, hence why it's listed on the checklist. Your friends are full of it.

that is absolutely not possible. i would assume your friends did not go through SPOUSAL sponsorship and if they did, as canuck suggested, they are full of it and are lying.

Yes, but there was an applicant last year that landed without having ever completed the required medical (obviously a big mistake on CIC's part).

Good luck guys! Also remember about the certified translations for the police check and other supporting docs. Trzymam kciuki!
