Hello,
I had submitted an application for Canadian PR through the Federal Skilled Worker Program to Buffalo center.
I am a software developer/analyst by profession. I had listed my NOC as 2171 (Information Systems Analysts and Consultants), which is not listed on the current list of NOCs being processed. My application got rejected because the consulate was not processing my NOC types at present.

What do I do now? Can I reapply under NOC 0213 (that is I list NOC as 0213 and not 2171)?
My job title is Sr. Analyst/Apps Programmer.

Any help in this regard will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Regards
SKumar.

Its not the only Designation or Job title.

Main thing is that if your duties are matching accordingly. Your this NOC is not existing in Ministerial list i believe. But you can look under 0213 that your job description or duties are almost same, you can use this.

NOC-0213 is Managerial Post, like computer and information system Managers. if you was doing duties that included description of NOC-0213, then you may apply again at any time, but remember, you should have Experience as Manager / Managing / Administer minimam of full time and paid.

You previous occupation is included in list, but its under Skilled category A and B, where you need first approved Job offer from HRSDC for apply as skilled worker. Only new 38 occupation list is where you dont need a job offer for applying as skilled worker.

hi,
I am one of the victims of newly 38 NOC list though they have not yet send me the rejection letter but it seems certain. But according to my understand i fall in NOC 0213 also though i applied as 0211 where both of them are managerial experience.

i have attached some portion of my NOC doc file which i sent to the CIC as FSW, Do you think they will accept my application cause my works also relate to NOC 0213?

FROM TO OCCUPATION NOC
01, 2007 Present Test Engineer-Manager 0211

i will be happy if you can help me in it.

as you have mentioned

You have two options. You can try to mail or fax CIC something to add to your file, like a letter saying you made a mistake with the NOC or you wish to amend the NOC. I have no idea how likely that is to be accepted but you can try. Your other option, wait until they reject your application, then apply again under NOC 0213.

They will not accept changes in NOC for applications already submitted.

Hi,
I had posted this question earlier also.
My role changed after I applied for canadian immigration under FSW.
My new role is manager's role and I completed PMP.

I sent a letter to buffalo asking immigration dept to update my NOC. I haven't heard back from them.

But, one month back I moved back to my country and I sent another letter asking them to update my address.
My new address is being reflected in e-cas.

Can anyone please help me to understand if they have agreed to change my NOC as well?
(My understanding is if they are planning to reject my application will they update my address???)

Thanks,
Kashyap

Updating change of address not necessarily mean application is successful. At the same time no need to worry. Regarding change of NOC, they may not do based on letter, probably they need fresh application with supportings. Your application is also required to be transferred to your home country visa office. Probably this may delay the processing.

Hello,

Thank you for all the replies. They were very helpful. For now I think I will sit tight and take managerial responsibilities along with my current ones. That should help me when I reapply.

Thanks again everyone.
