Hi guys, my application was received on 2nd April at Nova Scotia; however when I called IRCC they informed me that it was received on May 10th.

Unfortunately I do not have the receipt/ tracking number of my package sent, but I'm 100% sure it was received on 2nd April.

2 questions here :

A. Is it possible to find out the tracking number by any chance via Canada Post when I don't have the receipt?

B. What could have gone wrong that caused IRCC to delay the receipt by 1 month and 8 days? Is there any way it can be corrected?

Really appreciate your response.

Does the May 10th date refer to when they responded to you with the acknowledgement of receipt? If so, that's standard.

Otherwise, I don't know of any way for you to 'correct' the day of receipt. It's still going into the same hopper anyway.

What proof do you have that your file was received on the 2nd April?

AOR has not been received yet. The receipt is being considered as 10th of May rather than 2nd of April..

Sadly, no proof available with me about the receipt, that is my first question if I can find out about the delivery through Canada Post when I don't hold the receipt/ tracking number?

Are you kidding us with this question? Your application was probably delivered on April 2nd...IRCC opened and process it on May 10th. The point it, it has been delivered and is currently being processed.

Don't think there's much you can do about it. It's still just going to be in the pile, no-one's going to move it up in the queue (whatever it is that actually happened, and I'm not sure it's meaningful)

It's typical that IRCC don't acknowledgement receive an application package right after it reached the mailroom.
Did you get a tempory application number? Did you get AOR? (an actual application number)

I did receive temp application number, no AOR yet

IRCC IVR when inputted application number (temp) informs that the application is received on May 10th. Does that date mean they started processing it on May 10 and received much earlier?
Asking because typically AOR is received within a month's time from the receipt and it's been 2 months since my application is received.

I hope that's the case. It's very confusing.

I don't think that's their typical timeline with COVID. Your application will be checked for completeness. If it's contains all the required form and information, then it will get an application number (AOR) and you will receive communication from IRCC for AOR.

Worried because I'm aware of other applicants who have received AOR within a month of application receipt date.
