I know that fees for the applications are subject to change but I just want to make sure...

Sponsor application......$75

Family member (Spouse)............$475

PR Card......................$50

Also,
In sending the complete applications for Sponsor and family member (spouse) I also have the application for
my PR card...does the PR application get sent with the sponsor and Family member packet or do I send it in after getting the approval of the Sponsor and family member applications?

I am applying outside of Canada ( I live in Seattle) just got married April 26 2014 in Burnaby to my husband who is Canadian citizen and awaiting the marriage license to finalize all paperwork before submitting the application

The PR card fee and application is only for renewals.

You are missing the Right of Permanent Residence Fee of $490.

there is also the RPRF (righ of permanent residency fee) which i believe is 490, so total (minus the PR card) the application fee is 1040.

The only fees that are necessary to pay before the application is sent is the Sponsorship Fee and the Applicant Fee. The RPRF can be paid later during the process, and must be paid in order for the process to be finalized. It's generally suggested to pay this before it's requested by CIC to avoid delays.

Both the sponsor application AND applicant application are mailed together, in the same package. if you don't do this, your application will be incomplete and they will send it back.

Correct breakdown:

Sponsor's processing fee: $75
Principal applicant's fee: $475
Right of Permanent Residence Fee: $490

Total payable: $1040

I believe your first PR card will be free, and you'll only obtain it after doing your first landing in Canada as a PR.

Then the PR card will be renewed every 5 years since your first landing. Each renewal will cost $50.

WOW!
Thanks so much fandv!

So it is safe to say that I can send in my RPRF receipt of payment with my Sponsor and Principal application then?
I would rather sooner than later to expedite the process.

It is so confusing navigating thru all of this immigration legalize.....

No problem :).

Yes, if you can afford paying the RPRF now, then it's better to pay now (which means, paying a total of $1040). Some people choose to pay the RPRF at the end, but that just creates an extra delay.

By the way, I forgot to mention that the first PR card will be sent to the sponsored person's Canadian mailing address about 2 to 3 months after the first landing.

(And yes, everything's so confusing! I don't know what I would've done without this forum ::) )

landing means when you enter canada as a permanent resident. you are first issued what is a COPR (not sure what the CO mean - though i'm guessing certificate of?). Once you are at a port of entry, you will have to declare your belongings, and fill out some paperwork. Then you enter, and "land" as a PR. The PR card is then mailed to the address you tell them you will be living when you enter.
