Hi,

previous cases of in-Canada spousal sponsorship show them getting AIP in 6 months. Anyone here who has recently got AIP in 6 months time from the date os application submission. Pls let know. Since on their website it says 6-7 months, so am wondering what the timeline for recent cases have been. My 6 months are about to come to an end and I'm hoping i don't have to wait for another month.

regards

it is 6 to 7 months for first stage aproval. Most cases don't get first stage aproval. We are currently on our 9th month since sending the application and apparently it will take 3 or 4 more to have the PR card in our hands! It takes them anywhere from 1 to 3 month just to open mail never mind processing the application.

I would say that the total time they really spend on your application is 3 to 4 weeks at most the rest is just beurocratic wait time. Don't bother calling the call centre either, they will never give you accurate information on your file cause they don't know exactly what is happening with it. E-cas gives you misleading information and the dates they post as to the happening of your file are usually wrong if you cross check it wit the mail they send to you.

I hate to be party pooper but that is reality.

I would recommend sending an application right away for an open work permit, this will also help keep your legal status in Canada upto date.
