Hi all....
This is my first post. I hope everyone is well and your applications are in good order and being processed.
I have a couple of questions regarding the family class sponsorship process. I am a Canadian citizen residing outside of Canada and will be sponsoring my wife a Japanese citizen (currently living with me in Hong Kong).
1. Regarding the police certificate requirement. The application procedures require that I submit a police certicate along with the initial application. However, in Hong Kong, the police office will not allow me to apply for a police certificate unless I obtain a letter from the relevant Consulate / Immigration Authority / Government Authority, which contains my wife's name and clearly indicates that the production of the Certificate is required.
So how do I get this letter? Do I need to go to the consulate first or should I submit my application and wait for the HK visa office to send me the request and letter?
2. Medical exam. Should we do this first before we submit the application process or can we wait till this is requested?
3. Once the application is approved and my wife receives the visa, how long is the visa valid for? In other words, how much time do we have to relocate to Canada.
Thank you all in advance for your help.
