Application process for conference visa

Hello.
I am from Nigeria ,35 year old. i want to travel to Canada for 5 days to attend a conference on photography april 2016, i have photography company and registered since 2007 ,im married with a kid and my wife is also pregnant, my wife work in the bank as a customer service, i make about minimum of 2,000CAD monthly, i have 6,000CAD in my savings account, 15,000CAD in my company account, 5,000CAD in my foreign currency account and 20,000CAD in my fixed deposit. i have a house property in my name, vehicle certificate in my name. im a member or Rotary International (charity organization) kindly please advice me of what other documents I need to show them. i have travel to east and south african, UAE, Schengen countries...etc
What will make my application stronger
How much fund required for 5 days visit to show them as for conference visa and type of visa would i really apply for

Hi,

My suggestions:
Family ties: Proofs that you/your wife/kid live at the same address + you must return as your wife is pregnant (put this as a must-return-to date and reason) + marriage certificate/birth certificates

Property: House ownership documents + property tax receipts + utility bills + property evaluation by a Chartered Accountant + any market rates/property reports to back the CA valuation

Business/Employment: Company registration documents + company tax receipts paid for the last 2 years + 12 months company bank statements + photographers' association membership + payment stubs/cheque/bank transfers from customers + any work/projects that you must return to

Financial: Bank statements + investments + your personal income tax returns for 2 years + shares/pension funds.... do put an explanation for any large deposits/source of money must be your own + proofs of fixed deposits (a letter from the bank stating it is not mortgaged/no loans + can be liquidated, if required)

Travel: Explanation: My Travel History.... scan the visas + give visa details/entry-exit dates for each visit/purpose of visit.... especially for Schengen countries

Other ties: Any future projects that you are involved in for Rotary International? Are you a committee member for your Rotary district? Vehicle ownership documents

You must also submit proofs of registering for the conference + why you want to attend this conference + hotel and flight bookings (provisional and will be confirmed when the TRV is issued to you) + a day-by-day itinerary with detailed expense estimates + buy overseas travel medical insurance (although it's not mandatory)

Im one of the committee member as im the present treasurer of the club and incoming president, the handing over and investiture ceremony is july 1st of rotary year.....i think i will get a recommendation letter from my club, yes i have a photographer association membership ID since 2002,

my travel history, so i have to explain purpose for my visit to each country ?? then if i have to proof that i live with my wife and kid in the same address, what are the criteria and are the evidence i will show to let them know that my wife is pregnant ?? maybe photograph ???

most of the large amount in my company account is for the payment for past, present and future events and people pay down payment sometimes for job....

i have a conference registration payment confirmation of 750CAD + hotel payment confirmation of 850CAD + flight reservation, im only expecting the invitation letter as the organizer have register the event with the CIC so he is expecting them to review it and get back to him

should i explain everything related to my travel history + day by day itinerary with detailed expense estimates + why i want to attend the conference and make in on my letter head paper as i will normally write letter of introduction......

Do provide evidence of your association with Rotary/committee member as treasurer.... scheduled investiture ceremony.... if you can, a letter from the Rotary District Governor.... proofs of any future projects that you are responsible for.

Briefly, in 1 sentence.... in a table format

Medical certificate from the doctor stating her due date + any other such evidence.... not photographs LOL

Do also submit any Purchase Orders or Works Contract from customers.... recent + future ones ie after your Canada visit

Yes.... this is to show the visa officer that you have the funds for your visit.... you can prepare this on ordinary or business stationery


Also, do check the average TRV processing time on the CIC website for Lagos.... and plan your trip accordingly (especially if you have booked hotels/flights - refundable tickets)

Sorry Bryanna, due to what have read on this forum by other members experience, my purpose of visit.....hope attending a conference is enough?? or do i still need to put it in itinerary that i still want to visit other places....?? i just want to be very careful on this application....one more thing....the processing time for my country is 51 days...hope i will still meetup if i submit by first week of February ?? because the conference start by first week of april....thanks so much...

I did not suggest that your itinerary should be as prepared as a tourist to visit places.

Even as a conference visitor, you can prepare an itinerary with expense estimates if you think it is necessary. It's your decision.

the processing time for my country is 51 days...hope i will still meetup if i submit by first week of February ??

The times posted are only indicative.... it could be faster or take longer

Hello Bryanna, i submitted my application online on 19th feb 2016 and i was required to give my biometric.....so i was planning on going to VAC tomorrow to do that...its about 4 hours drive to my city....i hope everything go well.....thank you for your concern...

Hi, My Brother wants to go to Vancouver for a conference and we have selected " others" in visa category and now the website wants us to upload proof of relationship. Its a company inviting us for a conference, what can i upload there . please help
