hi guys, i need your help!

i'm an applicant of outland spouse-sponsorship immigration. im chinese and my husband is a Canadian citizen. he lived in beijing for 3 years from 2009 to 2012 and we got married in march 2011.
he moved back to canada to work in april 2012. more than one month ago we completed all our forms and supporting documents and my husband sent out our application package on june 14th. but this week we suddenly realized he had sent it to CPC-vegreville, which is wrong  .. we are an outland case, so it should be sent to the CPC-mississauga.

what should we do now? do we need to call the vegreville office to ask them to forward this package to mississuaga, or should we just wait?
the problem is, we lost the the Canada Post receipt, so we don;t know the tracking number. we just know the date and the sender's name and address. is that enough information for vegreville office to find our package?? i guess it is still there un-opened with piles of other application packages.

if they do forward this package to mississausa, what date should be considered the date of our application submission? if they consider it the date of forwarding, im afraid my police cert will be outdated since it was issued in april 2012 and the guide asks us to submit the application within 3 months after the issuance of the police cert. im so worried now. :'(

need your thoughts very much, thanks a lot!!

Hey Snowflake2012,

Sorry to hear that. Indeed your package should have gone to Mississauga. It has happened to other applicants as well, and apparently in the other cases Vegreville sent it to Mississauga... but it will delay your process unfortunately, I am not sure how long it will take for Vegreville to open your file and then send it to mississauga - but the current 3 months wait will start when it reaches Mississauga, not Vegreville.. so your police certificate might be outdated, in that case Mississauga might ask for a new one. For now there is not much you can do apart from waiting to hear from Mississauga... they seem to start sending more AOR for the more recent applicants, so hopefully you will get an AOR from Mississauga when it reaches there, to put your mind at peace...

You can try to call Vegreville to see if they have opened already your package and realised that it should be sent to Mississauga, but not sure that it will be enough with the name and address... but always worth a try, you don't have much to loose at that point.

Good luck,
Sweden

Don't worry - there are lots of new terms and it takes a while to get used to it, but by the time you get news from CIC you will have become an expert! :)
