Hey,
I would like to know the kind of proof that I should submit to the Canadian Embassy for the application of a TRV for tourism.
I'm making my application from Italy, and I have permanent resident status here.
I'm also attending university and I'm working part time.

Will it be sufficient to show the following documents;
- My Permanent resident card valid in all Schengen countries.
- My university transcript.
- A bank statement of about: € 5000 /= Euro's, will it be enough? (About 7000 Canadian dollars). (I intend to say for about a month in August)
- Employment payslips.

Is it possible to get a long term 5 year visa such that i will be visiting Canada (because i'ts vast) when I'm on holidays? instead of making an application every year? (Should I motivate this in my application?)

Thanks.

You cant get a 5 years visa just because you think Canada is very vast. What happens if someone wants to visit Bangladesh do they get a 2 day visa? I think Tourist Visas have 6 months validity and then you can always re- apply again. You don't need a 5 year visa besides the more times you apply its revenue for the government. There is a reason why its called Tourist Visa.

Tourist Visas are normally granted for 6 months by default. Now they are only required for nationals of designated countries, some nationals do not require a visa to visit Canada.

Now besides that and whether you need a visa or not, you will still be able to stay around for 6 months + an extension you would normally get under reasonable circumstances.

If you plan to come back and forth you should consider a multi-entry visa in the case that you need one to begin with.

Now if your plan is to come to Canada and stay for around 5 years you should consider immigration instead.
