Application in PROCESS, however....

Hello,
I got married in May of this year and now we are waiting for my wife to arrive.
We submitted the application to Mississauga office on July 17. It was sent to Vienna on August 23.
I checked online and it says that the application is in process and then it says it was sent to Belgrade (Serbia) office on September 16 and that she may be contaced by the embassy.
So it's been in Belgrade for two weeks now, approximately. My wife lives in Belgrade.
I was under the impression that those papers will be processed in Vienna?!?
Any idea why they are forwarded to Belgrade embassy? Is this a good sign or...?

That's interesting.
I'm not sure what that means, but I don't think Belgrade issues visas. Perhaps they decided an interview is required and have decided to have it in Belgrade to make it easier on your wife. On the other hand, might be Vienna is busy and they sent it all to Belgrade to finish up quicker. I'm just guessing here I'm afraid :/

Well...I guess it may be an interview.
But if Vienna is so busy, why would they send to Belgrade for processing if they told us in the letter it may require 6 months to complete.
So, I am thinking, If they have 6 months to do this, unless they really want me to see my wife sooner than leter, I dont see why send to Belgrade...

I don't know, that guess was based on what Buffalo does - sometimes they transfer application to other offices in the US and the letter the applicant gets says they transfered it to "expedite" processing. So I thought maybe this was the same thing. Did they notify you of this transfer?

They didn't notify us. I saw this on e-cas..also says there that she may be contacted by the embassy
does anyone have any experience with eblgrade embassy?

I should update this for those dealing with Belgrade:

Our application was received on August 31 2009 in VIENNA
Vienna office forwarded the application to Belgrade (Serbia) embassy on September 16 2009.
4 weeks passed by and my wife had not heard anything from Belgrade office, so on October 26 she went straight to the embassy to inquire about the aplication.
To our surprise, she was told that her papers are ready and that the embassy was going to mail her a letter requesting her birth certificate along with the marriage certificate but if she brings thoe dosuments herself to the embassy she will be given her VISA the same day.
That's exactly what she did the next day...
She's supposed to land this week in Toronto

Yes I guess Belgrade does too but forgets to inform us lol

Anyway, the lesson is I guess, it's a good idea to go in and check the status and not only rely on ECAS

But all in all, everything was done in a timely manner and without any problems.

I can only say GOOD JOB immigaration canada.

i just received the same thing that the application was transferred to belegrade office from vienna..
i don't know what to think..but i hope it's going to be good news for me too..
did she have an interview??
and do you think i can call them and ask for information or should i wait..
because it says the application has been transferred on november 9th..it may be too soon

no she didnt have an interview
you should go in person and do what she did
hopefully it is completed by now

i dont know if it's too soon to go because i email them and this is what they said:

Vas predmet je dostavljen Ambasadi Kanade u Beogradu i nalazi se u proceduri. Ukoliko je potrebno da dostavite dodatna dokumenta mi cemo Vas kontaktirati.

I guess they transfer the cases to other visa offices because it's easier for them to make a background check on applicants from those countries - this way it make the process much faster.

Hello everyone......
Canadian Embassy in Belgrade just advised my wife that her visa is ready. We are very happy.

June 15- Application sent to Mississauga Case Processing Center
July 6 - Letter from Mississauga - approval of sponsorship
August 11 - AOR from Vienna
October 23 - File transferred to Belgrade
Today - Call from the Embassy in Belgrade visa is ready

We called them 2 weeks ago and they said that it is in process and she will be contacted by the Embassy soon.

No interview, no additional paperwork. It took from October 23 to November 25 for Belgrade office to finalize paperwork.
