Application in process and extending open work permit

Well... after waiting nervously and biting our nails we received a letter from CIC saying:

"Upon review of the information you have provided, your application is considered complete based upon the requirements of the Instructions and Regulation 10 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA). Your application has now been placed into processing."

Being the nervous wreck I am I was so relieved that at least that part of the process went well, the application was in process since may 7,2014 so, now it's almost 3 weeks, I know we have to wait but the question I have now it's regarding how to check it online since we can't see anything, the cic site says that we need at least 7 weeks or so for the information to be there, I am guessing it counts after it's been accepted and not when they were reviewing it, right? If so we just need to wait for a little bit and hope everything goes well.
The other question is regarding an extension of our wp, we need an open wp, since a bridge no longer apply to us since our wp expires in less than a month. We are wondering which link it is in the cic, we did find this one and we are almost sure it is the one we need.

By the way, my husband nor me have a job at the moment, it's still possible to get the wp? We did the questionnaire in the cic site but tells us what we already know, that we are eligible to apply for permanent residence. :/

Why would you think that? The requirements for a BOWP are that you are in Canada, have valid status on a WP that expires within 4 months (meaning that your WP must be valid but have less than 4 months left) and have a positive eligibility decision on a CEC app. The principal applicant qualifies for a BOWP and the dependent spouse qualifies for an SOWP.

you can apply for BOWP if your current WP is still valid with no proof from any employer

OMG, Thanks!!! We were told that we no longer apply from a migration agent!!! since we need at least 4 months BEFORE the wp expires to be able to apply for the bridge, thank you thank you thank you, I will do that ASAP!!! Should my husband apply first or we can apply at the same time?
