Hi,

When I am submitting my application for permanent residence in Canada should I submit all the documents mentioned in the checklist along with the application or can I apply first and then submit some of the documents later. The reason being I got my college transcripts ready,IELTS ready and work experience ready, notarised. I am waiting for my police certificate from India which takes 60 days. should I wait until I get my police certificates and then apply or can I apply now, so that the process can start going!!!

Many thanks in advance

are you applying for FSW category 1? are you at the visa office stage. if yes, then send in everything at the same time, unless your 4 months is going to be over soon. At least thats what i would have done. They specifically ask for everything at the same time.

OMG. so quick reply. Thanks Rupeshhari. Yes I am applying under Federal Skilled worker class. Even though two immigration law firms promised my case is no win no fee basis(they claim I can get PR guaranteed on their assessment), I do not want to pay 2500 US dollars for their service and instead want to do on my own.

I did not understand when you mentioned--are you at the visa office stage. Can you please explain or give me the link for the same. What is this 4 month time limit.

Hi,

This link:http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG73.asp

says that I need to submit the application, pay fees and wait until I receive a number from CIU.

This link :http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp

Note: If you choose to apply through Category 1, the additional documents requested in Appendix A of the Visa Office specific forms, will be required at a later stage if your application is complete and is recommended for further assessment to a Visa Office

but this link:http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E37048.pdf

says I need to gather all the documents in the checklist and then only submit the application.

I am currently in Michigan and will be staying here for the next 3 yrs as my country of residence. So I believe I should apply to the office in Buffalo

Can you please clarify

Regards

yep, if you are legal in US, you can either have Buffalo or your country's visa office as your visa office

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E37048.pdf link is for when you apply to the visa office

Go with the first link and second link. The http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E37048.pdf is your appendix A so this is for the visa office part.
