Hi,

I landed in Canada in 2016 July and have been residing in Canada since then, except a few short trips(total time overseas is less than a month). When I try to fill out the address history I have a few questions:

When I landed in 2016, to explore different neighbourhoods for long term rental, I lived in hotel for a week, airbnb A for a week, airbnb B for a week, and airBnb C for a week until I found a long term rental, since I knew I don't have a reliable mailing address, I provided a friend's home address for receiving the PR card while going through the custom, I've never lived there, so my COPR shows an address I've never lived in.

My question is, Should I include my short term rentals right after landing in the address history? since I've never lived in the COPR address, would it make sense to add a letter of explanation about it?

Also since my eligibility period is from 2015 - 2020, I am not required to file tax in 2015 right? (since I haven't received visa in 2015 yet)

Thanks!

I think this question also comes up in the PR forums too.

I personally included my first airbnb address in my PR application just to make sure that I am not misrepresenting in any way. It is probably safer to include those early airbnbs in the early days of address history. I would do that.

Regarding tax returns I believe you need to have at least 3 tax returns filed in last 5 years (should recheck). You should be good for 2015 if you didn't even receive the visa then.

btw, when I say I included my airbnb addresses in my PR application, I should add that I was an FSW inland applicant. So when I came to Canada I initially spent 2-3 weeks in an airbnb before I got a place to rent. So I put that airbnb in my address history in Canada during my PR application.
