The ghost updates are for internal processing at the visa office. You could expect a decision soon.... that's if the decision in your first post was changed.

Hopefully, your wife will get her TRV (and you don't need to prepare the new paperwork :))
Sorry what do you mean by ghost updates? As in sometimes they will double check applications? Hopefully that's the case, gathering documents and having them translated is such a pain and costly. :(

It seems like she was refused when you first checked/linked her paper application. But, now it seems like processing is still on.

Do check the 'Final decision' status

@Bryanna,

Hello Bryanna, is there a sample template of how my letter should be formatted?
I am including my wife and my strong ties to Vietnam, our proposed itinerary and estimated expenses and also strong points in our portfolio they may have missed.

Unfortunately, the refusal is confirmed.

You may write to the Singapore visa office to request for a copy of the refusal letter. That said, regardless of the refusal reasons, I recommend you assess her application as a complete package

@Bryanna,

Hello Bryanna, is there a sample template of how my letter should be formatted?
This can help:

Cover letter (from your wife):
Formal tone, addressed to the visa officer, information set out in sections, point-wise information (do avoid long sentences as the visa officer may not have the time to read everything).

Suggested sections:
1. Applicant details + Host details

2. Purpose of my visit/Proposed itinerary and expense estimates + Why I would like to visit in XX month

3. Funds available for my visit

4. My strong ties to Vietnam (her employment + your young son + property ownership + financial situation)

5. Why I must return to Vietnam by XX date i.e. your employment/work permit ties + her employment ties + proofs of your plane tickets back to the Vietnam (refundable) + any other similar reasons

6. My previous travel history (tabular format for visa details + entry/exit dates + purpose of each visit)..... chronological order, last 10 years max

The only problem is my wife has only been to Singapore (no visa needed), Thailand 2 times (no visa needed) and Korea (visa needed). Other than that we only travel within Vietnam.
Do focus on her other strong ties: Employment + your son + family + property + finances, etc

@Bryanna Hello Bryanna, here is my current letter format, can you please tell me what else I can do to make it better? Thank you so much.
Will have a look and let you know later.

Please note in our original application package we supplied all the necessary documentation such as certification of shareholders, etc. Just the things I worte in more supporting documentation is the documents we haven't supplied.
Some serious advice:
1. Don't be in a rush to submit the new application. I know you've booked tickets (which isn't a wise thing to do, but it's done). You still have a month to go.

2. Your understanding of *necessary documentation* is not what the visa officer wanted to see. If it was the right paperwork, your wife would have had the visa the first time she applied.

3. In short: Re-think from the visa officer's perspective.... re-structure your application.... turn the entire application around to sound more convincing.... redo the paperwork. Do cut the shortcuts!

4. And, again (strong emphasis on *again*) do go through the Jtpolzin thread which I have been referring to. That guy put in considerable efforts to understand the gaps in his wife's application.... and he prepared the application pretty well. His wife is from Ukraine which does not rank high on visa approvals (similar to Vietnam)
