I applied for a study permit April 18 and I sent a message yesterday wanting to know how far my application has gone. I got an email today that my application had been finalised and I'll be contacted to pick up my passport. Please what does it mean

it means 99 % they approved you application and you applied online, now they will request you passport in few day and within few days you will get it back.

Of course I did. I did my biometrics and submitted my passport. I'm just confused

You dont need to wait to know what had happened. Just link your paper application to your CIC acct. There you will see if it is approved or declined. It takes 10 mins to open an account on CIC website and link it.
