And this coming from someone whose entire process was done in six months. Wow. You didn't need patience.. you were lucky enough to have your
file go to Ottawa rather then London. Or was it four months? Somewhere you mentioned you were lucky enough that it was only 4 months.
It was in process from December 15 until May 4 so 140 days. Or 4 months, 19 days in total.

We were very lucky it stayed in Mississauga, I am not disputing that.

I was prepared for twelve months when we applied, and then 29 when the dates were updated. It wasn't until I found this forum that I realized there might be a possibility of it getting processed more quickly than either of those time frames. :) So yes, to answer your question from a previous post, I went into the process with patience. :) Expecting the worst, receiving far better than the worst as a result.

Its certainly not the norm for people to call CIC weekly, nor is it typically suggested that's why I posted what I did. It would be a shame for other readers to think calling CIC on a weekly basis is a good idea.

I'm sorry your application process has been less than ideal. I know how stressful waiting can be. (believe it or not)

It may also be of interest to you to know that SA took 88 days from the time our application was received :)

We didn't receive AOR until February 27, 70 days after the application was received by CIC, or 74 after it was sent.

I believe the processing times start at the date of AOR (there should be a date on your letter)? but perhaps I am wrong...

I agree , its not the norm for someone to have to call weekly to get some
sort of answer as to why their file is not being processed.

But in my case, being well beyond the average for SA , and getting no real answers as to
why and being told it could be up to September 24th and that I should not
bother calling until then.. which would be 120 days for SA , not 56 and just
basically left in the dark.. then I would have continued to call every week
until someone told me why.

I just happened to get an agent on the first week of my weekly calls I was prepared to make
who just told me what was going on. Which really would have been nice to have been just told
this is what they are doing , and this could take this long for this reason, in the first place.
That is their job. And now I'm happy to sit and wait. I understand the reasons behind why
they have to take extra time to do this, and it makes sense.

Regardless, I am sorry that I came off as angry at you, I'm probably oversensitive lately and in a lot of
pain and with CIC adding to my stress, I guess I took what you said personally.

Nah no need to apologize. Its a very emotional raw thing to go through. :) I can be a little abrasive, objective and abrupt at times. So I'm sorry too.

You quoted the AOR in one of your posts, I think. Stating they received your application May 25 or some such. Not everyone receives AOR from CIC strange as it is.

Oh , well I did get a verbal AOR from the call center in early July when I had not
received anything from them, I called them. They looked into what happened to my
application and told me my husband CID number and gave me an application number
to look on Ecas. They told me my file was started processing on June 30th, and that
it would be a week or so more before they finished up.

The reason given for not receiving my AOR was they don't send them to physical address's, and
they had missed my email on my application. Human error.

But hopefully now that they have my email , and updated my husband correct address , this
part can be wrapped up sooner then later ;D

Then the long dark period can begin....... ;)
