Good day,

I am going to apply for the Canadian citizenship but on the application it's asking for proof of enhlEng. I am from a English speaking country and I don't know what I would do

Please i need best advice. I got my PR through Saskatchewan PNP. We started living in the province since Oct 2021 and we got PR in Jan 2024. We are due for citizenship application by February 2026. My wife git a job in another province and she has been shuttling between the two provinces. We intend moving to the province where my wife works because my son will also start university there.

My questions are

1. Is it safe to move now and it wont affect the processing of our Citizenship application
2. What is the input of the Sask. Province in the application process
3. What is your best advice for me to handle the situation

I will appreciate feedback and best advice as I do not want to make mistake

Regard

1. Yes. Absolutely.
2. None. (Well they'll do criminal records check and the like but nothing more substantively).
3. Relax and stop stressing. You're Canadian PRs. You've been there for 3 1/2 years, including more than a year as PRs. You settled and worked in the province that selected you. It's clear you honoured your commitments. Nothing whatsoever to worry about.

There IS potentially an issue for those who clearly never settled and never tried even to reside in the provinces they were selected by. It COULD be treated as misrepresentation (i.e. if you 'gamed the system' and never intended to settle there). But to be put it simply, this is relatively uncommon, we don't know how many cases come up, etc. Anyone who actually did settle in the province of selection for more than a year clearly has nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the response. I need more opinions and views on this

If you want other people to repeat @armoured 's answer, well, people will be happy to copy-paste, but it's kinda useless. You're "safe", you settled in the province that selected you and have every right to go elsewhere in Canada. The only impact this will have on your citizenship is that a different IRCC office will handle your application, which you shouldn't care about really.
And If you're still concerned, well, a lawyer will be happy to take a few hundred dollars to tell you the exact same thing
