I didn't have this situation but i can advise a little about what to write.

Basically you need to plan every thing outright and put in numbers. How much do you earn, what will be the child's needs. If he / she cannot go to regular school for now, what type of school would he go to? Research that and get info from schools websites / reaching out to them by phone. Would that cost any thing additional? What would you be able to pay out of this? Any details on therapies etc. that would be needed.

Also some specialist recommendation on how severe / mild the child's state is and how much therapy support he / she would need to function in every day life.

Parents income, status / financials etc. would help.

I have a vague (though unconfirmed recollection) that CIC weighs all of this against a material number. If they feel the annual cost of health care (specific to ASD only) for the child would be more than 6k CAD, then it is likely to be refused. If it falls below and a formal plan seems viable, they might accept.

That being said, i don't know of anyone with above scenario who went through the entire process and was successful. But i believe that is mainly because CIC notoriously delays such cases and people loose track of getting back to forums in that situation.

All the very best.

Hi Misishopeful,

Please let me know what happened in your case, any update you received. I just had medicals today and my kid is 3 and half year old and diagnosed as mild autistic. I have told this to physician, by the way Iam in Canada and we have started early intervention therapies a year ago, and she is improved well. I am gathering the letters from my therapists as well as others. Can you suggest what can be done best in my case.

Thank you,

Hi everyone.

I'm new here in this forum. Yesterday we had medical exam. My youngest son had ASD since age 3 and I was given forms to be filled by the school, therapist, psychologist and Developmental pedia. I'm worried about the situation since I haven't read any situations like ours being approved by CIC, although I've read in this topic mentioned that there are some who were successful. Anyway, I will still provide the required docs by the CIC doctor, and who knows, God will stretch out His hands to us. I believe nothing is impossible with God and He will always make a way. Let us all be positive and ask God's help in everything we do.

Hello! how was your application now? i think i may have a son with the same case as yours although our son has not yet been diagnosed by a devped. it's hard to find a devped here in Cebu since mostly are on full schedule. we are waiting for our Medical Request after payment of RPRF. i am really worried right now. i hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,

Dudai

We are also in the similar situation, we have not done the medical yet, please do post anyone has successfully migrated with child with special needs to canada. In our situation we are ready to bear the cost, we are looking for a place for better services.
