Application Fee, Does Everyone Pay??

Hello everyone out there, I need your help please as I have no knowledge about this. My wife is accepted to study in Canada, we have three children who are American citizen, my question is that do we need to apply a visa for them? Why or why not. Do we need to pay $125 application fee for them too? Is anyone with a knowledge or ideas about this matter can please educate me how this works?

Americans do not need visas to go to Canada. MUST have american passports...that's it.

Yes - but that only allows them to visit Canada. Not live here and study here.
