I will lose 10pts for age because i'll be turning 41 yrs old in June.
My husband is younger than me, he's 35 and his birthday is still in sept before he turns 36 so he has 25pts higher than me for age. We have the same profession but his score in ielts, he has 2 modules at 5.5 score - minimum should be 6 for all 4 modules. Should I encourage him to take ielts again so he can be the principal applicant instead of me and we can get 330 pts instead of my 306. Both of us have eca already.
My problem is I don't know how to pursuade my husband to take ielts again when I cannot guarantee him that we will be selected in the pool. Right now it looks very slim chance then need to spend a $310 sgd for english test which is not a guarantee to be given ITA

Hi MARS100,

Your score 306 is not so bad and 100% will get ITA within 3 to 6 months.
BUT, If you want improve your score, appear yourself for ielts again and get CLB9.
OR Your husband may appear for IELTS again and try for CLB7.

5th draw cut off is 481. Hope the cut off will come down to 340 in next few draws.

Its gonna take truckloads of time for cut off to be drastically coming down from hereon.
My best optimistic estimate is that the 400 mark will be reached only by the end of this year (if it happens)

I think the next draw would be lower than 400 or worst case is 400 even. It would definitely go down cause they have a target to meet this year and the number of invitations are going up as to they are moving to a more stabilized system. . And the people from 370-450 has the highest population.

the cut off may increase in coming draws but will come down to 300 later

it all depends if u get an LMIA or no...I think that wud b difficult
