Why wouldn’t I get my GIC money back?
its my money? If I’m withdrawing my visa application then no use of GIC.
so i will. I just need to know the way. Should i mail the bank i have GIC account in.
plus my classes have already started. My college just gave me a deadline for 100% refund which is 21st sept. I can’t waut anymore as i’m kot even sure i’ll get my gisa approved or not.
Yes, it is your money and its just saved in a Canadian bank (with minimal interest rate). You will find the refund form on the bank website. Last year post my visa rejection, I withdrew my GIC account (Scotia Bank). But let me warn you the amount you will receive back would be lesser than what you transferred. They will deduct the administration fee ($200) + international transaction charges would be imposed + GST. Overall I had a loss of Rs. 20,000 though there was a drop in Indian rupee. If you are planning to apply again for the next intake, I would suggest you not to withdraw it. Next time again you would be required to pay $200 admin charges and have to wait for their response as well. I don't want others to make the mistake that I made.

Actually, in a webinar by Canada immigration office, a lady officer claimed that they will process complete applications in a single stage. But I couldn't find a single person with an approved visa Can't trust their webinar dumb claims.
